Former House Speaker John Boehner is back in the spotlight after leaked clips of his “wine-soaked” audiobook recordings garnered a lot of attention. The Republican establishment has grave issues with the modern Republican Party and has hurled several aggressive insults at Senator Ted Cruz in off-script comments, stating in one clip that he can “go f**k himself,” as Matt reported earlier this month.
However, Cruz is unfazed by Boehner’s constant attacks. In response to excerpts from Boehner’s interview with CBS, the Texas Republican said he wears the insults as a badge of honor.
“The swamp is miserable. I wear his drunken, pompous contempt with pride. Please don’t cry,” he wrote on Twitter last week.

If you don’t speak Swamp Creature, here’s the translation: “inciting some of the crazies in my own club to cause all kinds of trouble” means
“encouraging elected members of Congress to actually honor their promises to voters and DO WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO.” https://t.co/CIBpfxHUZQ

In an interview with CBS, Boehner says he doesn’t like “hitting anyone,” but he would make an exception for Cruz.
“You know, the perfect symbol of you getting elected, you’re going to make a lot of noise, you’re going to get attention, you’re going to raise a lot of money, which means you’re going to make more noise, you’re going to raise more money,” Boehner told CBS of how he views Cruz’s political career.
Boehner, an Ohio Republican who was speaker of the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015, gives interviews promoting his book, “On The House: A Washington Memoir,” which comes out next week. Boehner represented Ohio’s 8th Congressional District from 1991–2015. (Fox News)
Cruz also addressed Boehner’s allegations at CPAC in February.
“You know, John Boehner made news yesterday. He suggested that I do something that was anatomically impossible,” Cruz said in his speech. “To which my response was, ‘Who is John Boehner?’”
Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan similarly dismissed Boehner’s attacks, which included calling him and Cruz “political terrorists,” saying he had “never seen a guy who spent more time breaking things and never building anything, never putting anything together.”
