The US Senate again rejects an attempt to limit Trump’s activities in Iran

WASHINGTON – An attempt to force President Donald Trump to seek congressional approval for continued hostilities in Iran failed for a fourth time in the U.S. Senate on Wednesday, with all but one Republican continuing to support the president’s conflict in the Middle East.

Senators voted against this solution by a vote of 47 to 52, with a similar distribution of votes as in earlier votes, in which one Republican and one Democrat broke with their parties.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who previously sponsored one of Iran’s war powers resolutions, split with his party again to oppose Trump’s military actions in Iran, which the president launched without congressional approval.

As before, Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was the only Democrat to support Trump in continuing the war in Iran.

Sen. Jim Justice, R-W.Va., did not vote.

Senate Democrats do he promised more votes we face stopping Trump’s joint operations with Israel in Iran.

The sponsors of Wednesday’s resolution on war powers were: Sens. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, Tim Kaine of Virginia, Chris Murphy of Connecticut, Adam Schiff of California and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin.

Fourth failed vote

There was an earlier vote to cut off Trump’s uncontrolled military operations in Iran March 18, March 4 AND June 27when the United States and Israel bombed Iran’s nuclear facilities last year.

AND Quinnipiac University Poll released Wednesday showed that voters held Trump responsible for rising gas prices by a nearly 2-to-1 margin.
