Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou posted statement Tuesday after Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris picked her vice presidential running mate in Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, warning that the pair would “crush” middle-class families in Ohio if elected in November.
“Tim Walz is the perfect choice for a San Francisco liberal like Kamala Harris. During his tenure as governor, he provided driver’s licenses and free college tuition for illegal immigrants. He failed to protect his citizens from some of the most violent and dangerous unrest in recent memory,” Triantafilou said.
Triantafilou compared Walz to Ohio U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), who, despite distancing himself from the Harris campaign, he voted From 2021 to 2023, the Biden administration will govern 99 percent of the time, according to VoteView data.
Brown, who has served in the U.S. Senate since 2007, also voted with Harris 84% of the time she served in the U.S. Senate — where, at the time, GovTrack named her the chamber’s most “liberal” member.
In fact, it was determined that Brown and Harris jointly sponsored nearly 500 pieces of legislation while serving in the Senate, including bills promoting anti-police and pro-illegal immigration policies, according to report By Fox News.
“Like Sherrod Brown, he was and will continue to be a rubber stamp for Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s radical agenda that has crushed middle-class families in Ohio,” Triantafilou said.
“Ohioans continue to vote Republican because Democrats continue to make decisions like electing Tim Walz – an out-of-touch, far-left governor who doesn’t care about ordinary Americans,” Triantafilou added.
Triantafilou’s statement after Harris selected Walz as her vice presidential running mate echoed a warning from the Republican National Committee (RNC), which called The Harris-Waltz ticket is “the most radical, far-left party in the history of our country.”
“Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are two open border, weak on crime, defunding the police, liberals who constitute the most radical, far-left group in the history of our country,” the RNC said.
“Walz supports illegal immigration, has called police racists, has put violent criminals back on the streets, and in 2020, allowed rioters to torch the Twin Cities while Kamala stepped in to raise funds for their bail. Despite attempts by her staff to backtrack on her dangerously liberal record, Kamala has proven that she will always put criminals, illegal immigrants, and the radical fringe of her party before American families. Now more than ever, we must elect President Donald J. Trump to put America first,” the RNC added.
