The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a resolution to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Cheat resigned a day after her testimony Monday, saying she took “full responsibility for the security breach,” according to an email gained via The Associated Press. Johnson said Cheatle’s resignation was “long overdue” but that there still “may be others in the line of power” who are also guilty.
“She should have done it at least a week ago,” Johnson said. he said at a news conference Tuesday. “Now we have to pick up the pieces. We have to rebuild the faith and trust of the American people in the Secret Service as an agency.”
The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
