According to the leader of the Republican Senate, there may be another attempt to make it more complex for Ohioans to change the state constitution. It comes as volunteer groups rush to collect 413,487 valid signatures by July 1 to get amendments to eliminate property taxes and ban gigantic data centers from the fall ballot.

Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate for Ohio governor, raised $5.2 million in the first quarter of this year, bringing her total to $10 million. A record result for the Democratic candidate for Ohio governor. No Democrat has ever raised more.

But to biotech billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, her Republican opponent, it’s tiny stuff, the kind of money you’d find between the couch cushions. Ramaswamy, who moved his business from Ohio to Texas just before announcing his candidacy, has just donated $25 million of his own money in a loan to his campaign.
