Wisconsin Republican Introduces Bill to Ban Critical Race Theory in Washington Schools

Wisconsin Rep. Glenn Grothman (R) introduced a bill Friday that would ban the teaching of critical race theory in Washington public schools.

Grothman said in press release this critical race theory, which seeks to highlight systemic racism as a defining aspect of American history, tells children to “hate each other and hate your country.”

In other words, students learn that they are defined by the color of their skin, not their character traits.

The bill is also supported by four co-authors: GOP representatives. Ralph Norman (South Carolina), Pat Fallon (Texas), Bob Gibbs (Ohio) and Ronny Jackson (Texas).

Congressmen can make laws affecting the District of Columbia because it is not a state.

The End Critical Race Theory in D.C. Public Schools Act is the latest Republican effort to ban critical race theory from schools nationwide. They say five states have already passed laws to prevent the controversial doctrine from being taught, and 16 have such laws in place. NBC News.

Earlier this month, the state of Wisconsin, led by Grothman, introduced a bill that would prohibit the teaching of critical race theory in public schools, the University of Wisconsin System and state technical colleges.

The D.C. bill is not expected to gain approval from a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives.

Grothman said critical race theory “is another step toward demonizing our great country.”

The purpose of this telling of American history is to try to pit America against Americans. Instead of sharing the great gift that we all have, which is to live the American dream if we work for it, the purpose of CRT is to make Americans bitter and incensed.
