Zuckerberg-backed group promotes $6 million election donation from left-wing nonprofit

A left-wing organization backed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is promoting a $6 million election grant program to “support local election officials” from an influential left-wing nonprofit, The Federalist reported Friday.

This Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) allegedly ordered election officials to participate in the Institute for Responsible Government (IRG)-affiliated “A More Responsive Government 2024” grant program, According to to emails obtained by Federalist. CTCLs funnel-shaped $350 million to states across the country in 2020, with Zuckerberg donating $328 million to the organization, According to to influence Watch.

“This new ‘grant’ program, the A More Responsive Government 2024 Grant Program, is just the latest scheme by a left-wing, nonprofit network to use billionaire progressive activist funds to influence election offices, implement a left-wing election administration agenda, and influence the outcome,” Ned Jones, director of the Citizens Election Research Center, told The Federalist. “These activities should be banned, as they have been in 28 states, in every state.”

“We are sharing information about this program with you, just as we typically do with other impartial resources and funding opportunities that can help you do your job,” the email reads. The deadline to receive grants is Sept. 13, 2024.

IRG is a left-wing nonprofit that specializes in electoral politics, according to the organization’s website. IRG is a project funded by the left-wing nonprofit New Venture Fund, which is overseen by the left-wing nonprofit Arabella Advisors, According to to influence Watch.

The New Venture Fund is funded by a variety of left-wing donors, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation, According to to Influence Watch. IRG is just one of many programs operated by New Venture Fund, including the Election Integrity Fund, Democracy Fund and Climate Fund.

Grants range from $6,000 to $1.35 million, According to to IRG. States eligible for the grant are Colorado, Delaware, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Nevada and Washington, D.C., according to the email.

CTCL did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
