Why Senate Republicans are demanding another special counsel investigation into Biden

The number of special advisers being appointed is becoming absurd. It’s like a Marvel movie franchise. No, worse – Friday the 13thth, which became stupid after part III. Donald Trump is the subject of two special counsel investigations, the latest of which brought charges against him over the secret documents controversy. Jack Smith is special counsel in this legal action, which is also examining Trump’s role in the January 6 riots. Mueller’s investigation concluded with no solid evidence of Russian collusion, even though they went to great lengths to create it, given virulent anti-Trump lawyers who called for an investigation into false claims that were later deemed hoaxes. The FBI never had any evidence that could have greenlit a counterintelligence investigation into allegations arising from the Steele Dossier, the Clinton campaign-funded opposition research dossier containing actual Russian disinformation.

Joe Biden is also under special counsel over his mishandling of classified information, although Senate Republicans are seeking another one over his dealings with Burisma. We had scant evidence regarding Joe Biden’s alleged involvement in a bribery scheme dating back to his time in Ukraine, but it was suppressed by the news of Trump’s indictment. Burisma Holdings co-founder Mykola Zlochevsky is a foreigner who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter for $5 million each in 2015-2016. He has a book of payments, telephone conversations and recordings of these conversations. If a false allegation of Russian collusion could trigger a special investigation, the actual evidence of corruption involving the current president of the United States is sufficient (via NY Post Office):

A group of Senate Republicans on Tuesday demanded that Attorney General Merrick Garland appoint a special counsel to investigate President Biden’s role in his family’s international business dealings – amid allegations that Biden accepted a $5 million bribe as vice president.

Sense. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) and Mike Braun (R-Ind.) signed the letter a day after Sen. Chuck Grassley (Iowa) revealed that a Ukrainian businessman who allegedly paid in 2015 and 2016 Joe and Hunter Biden each awarded $5 million each and claimed they kept 17 audio recordings of the president and first son as “insurance.”

“The unresolved allegations of potential corruption and wrongdoing by multiple members of the Biden family are, to say the least, deeply disturbing,” the four senators wrote to Garland, specifically mentioning alleged bribes on behalf of Burisma Holdings owner Mykola Zlochevsky, as well as the first family’s Chinese dealings.

“Given the allegations that come to light every day, we call on you to appoint a special counsel to investigate any wrongdoing by President Biden and his family in their business dealings,” the senators wrote.

We’ll see if that happens. It should, but we’re dealing in a world where a powerful agency within the executive branch moves heaven and earth to protect the president and his Democratic Party allies.
