Vision 2020

If you have a 20/20 vision (or better), you probably don’t even think about seeing – unless you had a worse vision before. If your vision has fallen over the years (like mine), you probably wish for the times when you accepted your vision for something obvious.

This applies to more than vision; We often take different things for granted. To be grateful, we must first understand and appreciate the gifts that we have – even the gifts that were given to us by God.

We often perceive our personal historical experience and changes as events that have happened to us, which shaped us in one way or another. These historical events made us today.

Despite many events that shaped each of us, looking into the future, we usually see compact changes, according to scientists Jordi Quoidbach, Daniel Gilbert and Timothy Wilson. They came to the conclusion that people perceive “the present as a breakthrough moment when they finally became a person they would be for the rest of their lives.”

Scientists called this belief “end of the illusion of history.” At the time of interrogation, the study participants maintained the illusion that the changes they testified were made; There was no story anymore.

How do we know that we are often mistaken in our forecasts, that the future does not contain any additional changes? Just look at the last presidential election. If you look at Donald Trump’s aggregated election numbers compared to Hillary Clinton, Clinton seemed to lead during most of the race.

On the election night many couldn’t believe that Trump won. Although we can now look back and say that on November 8, 2016 there was an extraordinary time in politics – in this cycle we will return to normal – we should think: how could it be even stranger?

Welcome to 2020, once again a year of presidential election. In addition, all members of the Chamber are ready for elections, like a third of US senators and 11 governors. North Karolina, New Hampshire and Montana are tossed; Democrats should win Vermont, Delaware and Washington; Republicans should win western Virginia, Utah, North Dakota, Missouri and Indiana. Many state legislators who have been selected in this cycle will have a voice in how recent congress and state districts are rebuilt based on the results of the 2020 universal census.

While President Donald J. Trump is the castle of the Republican President’s nomination, the nominated by the democratic candidate is ready. This year, the process begins slow when Iowa clubs take place on February 3. New Hampshire Primary takes place on February 11; Nevada clubs are February 22, February 29 South Carolina.

On March 3, Super Tuesday includes Alabama, American Samoa, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Karolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia. A week later, Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio and Washington have their voice. The last primary takes place in June 2020.

While former vice president Joe Biden has an advantage among democrats in national polls, the first few countries will go to other pretenders, and the shape of the race is still largely undefined. The Democratic Convention will take place on July 13-16 in Milwaukee. Imagine a script in which there is no clear winner in a democratic basic process; The convention remains indirect; And the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is brought to unite the party and take against President Trump.

You say it’s crazy and will never happen. But no one can predict the future.

The Republican Convention will take place over a month later, on August 24-27 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Imagine the fun of President Trump if Clinton is a nominee. We should expect that 2020 will be wild than in 2016 – and in the way we can not even be predicted.

So what should you do this political year? Do not pay attention to all personal attacks and reporting about the horse race (which is in polls for a percentage point or two). Instead, watch out for the results of what the current administration achieves and focus on discussions about politicians instead of personality. Here is a clear vision for 2020.
