Senator Ohio JD Vance was won yesterday by the Vice President of the Presidential Debate against the governor of Minnesota Tim Walz, and it was not particularly close. Vance was very well prepared, his intelligence and nervousness Instant during almost two hours of exchange and and-most crucial, normality and empathy have helped dispel the gloomy, negative caricatures of Democrats and their media allies. As someone with a edged reluctance to Walz, I would like to self -lock how Vance distorts his opponent on his extreme record and the blizzard of lies. But most of it would be a waste of time and energy. Vance’s priorities had to be a calming and pleasant impression of breaking voters and constantly hammering Harris in her album. And he just did that. It was one of the best moments of Vance, in which he cleverly expressed compassion for Walz’s efforts, while attracting the contrast between two candidates at the top of each ticket:

In his lonely debate against Harris, Trump wasted the possibilities of calling Harris for her defeat as she had a suffered, saving this key point for his closing statement. CBS moderators were not as bad and biased as ABC was a few weeks ago, which is a low bar. But the deck was again arranged against the lonely Republicans in the room. Walz was scratchy from the gate. He fought with the first answer, he flew a few other points along the way and often looked uncomfortable and is not. Some of his whoppers, including In the border crisis AND miscarriageThey were shameless. When he was called to only one of the many strange lies about his biography, he began an inconsistent answer about his life history. When CBS followed, he had nothing:

At a different moment, Walz accidentally said that he made friends with school shooters when he seemed to mean shooting at school victims or loved ones. This can be shown as an innocent distortion that stands, as opposed to the litany of glaring lies, Walz tried to reject as “bad grammar” or being “emotional” or “Knuk:”

Media commentators, and even some Democrats immediately admitted that Vance had a better night. One focus group Divide 12-2 for Vance. But in very close elections, having a good debate is certainly better than an alternative. To the extent that Vance provided some voters who may want to return to Trump’s policy, but reluctance to Trump himself, it can be an advantage – especially since this is probably the largest planned, television political event before the election.
