Trump attacks Montana Sen. Jon Tester, calling him a ‘radical leftist lunatic’ during Bozeman rally

by Misty Severi

Former President Donald Trump on Friday night called Montana Senator Jon Tester, a Democrat, a “radical left-wing lunatic.”

Trump’s speech in Bozeman, Montana, where he was campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy, came shortly after he was forced to make an unexpected landing in Billings because of a plane malfunction.

At the event, the former president slammed the incumbent president, claiming Tester “never voted” for any of Trump’s policies during his first term.

“Tester, everybody thinks he’s my best friend. He’s never been there for me, and yet his ads are, ‘I really like Donald Trump,'” the former president said. “He said, ‘I love his pride, I love his position on the border.’ He’s voting against the border. He voted against funding the border. He said, ‘I love his position on energy,’ he voted against our energy programs.”

“He votes against us 100% of the time, he votes for Joe Biden 100% of the time,” the former president continued. “He did it last time we had the same problem in the election. Remember when he came out saying he really, really liked your policies. He does it like he was a radical left-wing lunatic, like [Vice President] Kamala [Harris].”

The tester stands in front of a challenging fight for re-election against Sheehy, who currently leads by 3.5 percent in the RealClearPolitics average of polls.
