The Ohio Republican Party launched a novel initiative Monday aimed at eliminating Republican votes in the Nov. 5 general election.
The novel initiative, called the Buckeye Battalion, is “a comprehensive, coordinated field effort by the Ohio Republican Party, local Republican organizations and candidates across Ohio to support Donald Trump, Bernie Moreno and Republicans in the November election.” “
Initiative website encourages Ohio voters to sign up to receive notifications and reminders to vote in the November 5 election.

According to the Ohio Republican Party, the Buckeye Battalion was launched this week after a “strong statewide call to action” issued over the weekend.
“After the March primary election, the Ohio Republican Party called for unity within our ranks and made clear our top priorities,” said Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou he said in a statement. “Now is the time to go a step further with our united front and unparalleled enthusiasm to ensure that all of our campaign efforts effectively and efficiently help candidates advance and fall in the election.”
“I was impressed by the enthusiasm we saw during our call to action this weekend, and we look forward to expanding the ranks of the Buckeye Battalion and bringing the vote to every county in Ohio on November 5,” Triantafilou added.
The Buckeye Battalion initiative was also launched a few days after the Trump campaign fired its Swamp The Vote USA initiative, which was created to promote absentee and absentee ballots and early in-person voting.
Trump endorsed his campaign’s novel initiative, saying, “Republicans must win and we will use all appropriate tools to defeat Democrats because they are destroying our country.”
“Whether you vote absentee, absentee, in person or on Election Day, we will protect your vote. We make sure your ballot is secure and your voice is heard. We need to flood radical Democrats with massive turnout. The way to win is to swamp them, if we swamp them with votes they won’t be able to cheat. You need to prepare a plan, register and vote in any way possible. We need to get your vote,” Trump added.
