The survey asked the same question about President Joe Biden, and the most popular answers about his plans for a second term were “nothing,” “economy” and “peace.”
The answers to Trump’s questions come on the heels of a town hall meeting with Fox News’ Sean Hannity earlier this month in Iowa, during which the former president was asked if he vowed to “never abuse his power as revenge against anyone.” .
Trump said he won’t be a dictator, except on day one, when he wants to “close the border” and “drill, drill, drill.”
The liberal media panicked over the remark, taking it as evidence of his authoritarian intentions. However, Republican Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio urged them to “find a sense of humor.”
Trump wasn’t done drawing media attention to these comments, however, and brought them up again in his speech at the 111 New York Young Republican Club.vol Annual Gala.
“[Peter] Baker today at The New York Times. he said that I want to be a dictator,” Trump said in his speech. “I didn’t say that. I said I wanted to be a dictator for one day. Do you know why I wanted to be a dictator? Because I want a wall, right? And I want to drill, drill, drill.”
His campaign website details his positions on energy and border security.
Energy:
Under President Donald J. Trump’s leadership, the United States has become the world’s largest producer of oil and natural gas, achieving American energy independence and providing consumers and businesses with historically low costs for oil, gas, diesel and electricity. President Trump has unlocked God-given abundance of oil, natural gas and tidy coal for our country. He approved the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, opening federal and offshore lands to responsible oil and gas production and ending the unfair and costly Paris Climate Agreement. Joe Biden has reversed Trump’s energy revolution and is now enriching foreign adversaries abroad. President Trump will ramp up production of domestic energy resources, lower skyrocketing prices of gasoline, diesel and natural gas, promote energy security for our friends around the world, eliminate the socialist Green New Deal, and ensure that the United States will never again be at the mercy of a foreign supplier energy.
Border security:
President Donald J. Trump has created the most secure border in U.S. history. He ended catch-and-release, cracked down on human traffickers, deported a record number of illegal alien gang members and built a massive modern 750-kilometer wall. Joe Biden has turned our country into one giant sanctuary for unsafe criminal aliens by suspending all immigration enforcement in the middle of a global pandemic and invalidating landmark agreements that safely returned asylum seekers to Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. The onslaught of illegal aliens invading our wide-open borders threatens public safety, drains the national treasury, weakens American workers, and burdens schools and hospitals. President Trump will prevent Biden’s border disaster. It will once again end catch-and-release, restore residency in Mexico, and eliminate asylum fraud. In cooperating states, President Trump will deputize the National Guard and local law enforcement to aid quickly remove illegal alien gang members and criminals. It will also create a merit-based immigration system that protects America’s workforce and promotes American values.
