Former Republican National Convention political director Gentry Collins discussed creating a novel tool for undecided voters to apply when determining who to vote for in the upcoming 2024 election.
“Survey after poll after poll shows that swing voters in swing states care about household affordability,” Collins said on “Only news, no noise“TV show. “They can’t afford gas, they can’t afford groceries, they can’t afford a mortgage, their credit card bills are huge and no one is talking to them about it as directly as we should. “
The tool is titled Gas and groceries it also allows voters to enter their zip code and see how prices have gone up or down over the years under different presidencies.
“Through our gas and grocery project, we have managed to enable voters in any postcode in the country to enter their postcode online and see the plain facts. [with] no spin, no propagation of the problem [and] no support,” Collins said.
He added that voters will be able to see what grocery prices were during former President Donald Trump’s administration and what they are under President Joe Biden’s administration.
“What was your life like in terms of the price of a car for groceries, a gallon of gas, mortgage affordability, etc. in your zip code at the end of the Trump presidency compared to what it was like here at the end? Biden Harris administration,” Collins said.
One of Americans’ biggest concerns in the upcoming election is the economy and inflation.
Gas and groceries quotes that grocery costs have increased by 25% since Biden became president, and specifically that egg prices are about 72% higher than during Trump’s presidency.
“What we’re trying to do is provide a tool to get America’s voters to cut through all the garbage that’s being thrown at them and allow them to come forward with just the facts: ‘Was my life better because of Donald Trump’s policies, or was my life better under Donald Trump? ? Kamala Harris Politics?” Collins asked.
Inflation is also a solemn issue that worries voters. Recently, the International Longshoremen’s Association went on a short-lived strike: the first coast-wide strike since 1977.
Trump said the reason for the strike was inflation.
“The situation should never have come to this and if I were president it would not have happened,” Trump said in a statement press release. “This is happening solely due to inflation caused by Kamala Harris’ two votes for massive, out-of-control spending and her decision to stop energy exploration,” his statement continued. “The American people who thrived under President Trump cannot survive even because of Kamala Harris – this strike is a direct result of her actions.”
Port workers strike it would impact U.S. imports and exports of goods ranging from retail products to cars and could cost the U.S. economy as much as $5 billion a day.
Collins said it Gas and groceries contains a list of facts and leaderboards, so users are not overwhelmed by tons of information.
“You’re not going to get a lot of material to read,” he said. “You’re going to get some very basic measurements of what’s happened in your own zip code, grocery prices, gas prices, mortgage prices, rent and overall household affordability… so just those basic measurements.
