The liberal media must be nervous. All their tricks don’t work. Joe Biden remains in the toilet in the approval ratings despite his best efforts to make the former president look crazy. This indicates the lack of credibility of the news industry in the eyes of the public. Half the country rightly believes that the news media is corrupt and pro-democratic. The other half nods and agrees, but realizes they are consuming biased news. It’s also a Herculean task to make Biden look not half-dead or dementia-stricken, but tough. He is a mentally degraded ancient man who does not remember when his son died. The media says, “Don’t believe your lying eyes.” Too slow. And that’s exactly what happened this month in Ohio.
Donald Trump visited the Buckeye State ahead of the state’s March 19 primary elections. He performed solidly for Bernie Moreno, who easily won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, winning all 88 counties. The former president did talk about the economic horrors that would come with a second Biden term, including a bloodbath for the auto industry over China. The media took this and tried to employ it as a call for political violence; even Google changed its search results.
The media’s problem in selling this lie is that the video and transcript undermine the narrative because the former president can be seen clearly talking about trade and domestic politics. Therefore, within 36 hours this media blitz stopped. It became another sore point for an industry already ridiculed for its serial production of bogus news about the Russian collusion hoax and Hunter Biden’s laptop.
If this was an attempted campaign to assassinate media figures against Trump, which will be an ongoing operation this cycle, it has failed. It exploded on the launch pad like a North Korean missile test. The effectiveness of the liberal media has declined tremendously as half the country simply ignores their pleas, tantrums, and complaints about the 2024 Republican candidate. We don’t care. The irony is that the Democratic Party and liberal activist judges like the one overseeing Trump’s civil fraud case in New York are doing this actual damage to the rule of law and the Constitution of the United States. Trump is running for president; there is nothing illegal about it. Taking over someone’s assets because of a political rival is a completely different matter.
It should shock us all to our core that we have a political party, a cadre of judges and a media establishment that supports such behavior. Michael Shellenberger and Alex Gutentag, two freelance reporters, have written about the narcissism and psychopathy that appear to be at the heart of attempts to seize Trump’s financial assets. When these two things come to dominate a nation’s intellectual institutions, totalitarian tendencies emerge and spread like a virus.
The media should now understand that they are not special – they are not first responders and no one sees them as pillars controlling the government. If anything, they are Democratic Party operatives, unprincipled and amoral to the nth degree, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. They are political whores.
For now, I find them more irritating. I’m more concerned about what they’re reporting on Trump’s legal issues, because each case undermines the constitutional order more than any of the miniature riots that occurred on January 6.
