Businessman Bernie Moreno gained another endorsement by running against Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio in November. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) endorses Moreno, joining the list of other sitting U.S. senators who have expressed their support for the candidate.
In a statement provided to Townhall, Paul shared: “I am proud to endorse true political outsider Bernie Moreno for the Ohio Senate. Bernie will cut spending, keep us out of endless wars, and fight for the Constitution. We need more conservative fighters in Washington, and I look forward to working with Bernie to fight DC.”
“Senator Paul is a warrior against the Washington establishment and I am grateful for his support. I look forward to fighting for conservative values in the Senate alongside Senator Paul,” Moreno said in his own statement.
Paul has indeed been a fierce “warrior” against the “establishment” in recent years, especially when it comes to Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Paul’s statement raises the issue of Moreno’s “outsider” status, which his campaign has been highlighting for months, most notably through ads released last November as part of a “statewide advertising blitz.”

Moreno also gained a particularly noteworthy endorsement last December from former and potentially future President Donald Trump, who had already been speaking positively about Moreno for months.
Since endorsing Trump, Moreno’s vote count has increased in the primary and general elections, while Brown’s lead has been shrinking. Ohio has long been considered one of, if not, the best the represents the best chance to improve the situation for Republicans, since 2024 seems to be a particularly favorable year. Forecasts currently consider the race to be “The Throw.”
Trump also endorsed incumbent Sen. J.D. Vance, who faced even more primary challengers than Moreno currently does. After that endorsement, Vance began to gain popularity in the polls and ultimately won the May primary after Trump endorsed him in April.
Except Paul Moreno gained recognition other potential contributors include Vance, Marco Rubio of Florida, Mike Lee of Utah, Cynthia Lummis and John Barrasso of Wyoming, Roger Marshall of Kanas, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama. He also won support from members of the House of Representatives, ambassadors and other Republican figures and groups, as well as much more support from local Ohioans.
