Republicans rush to defend Trump after impeachment

Lawmakers were quick to react to the shocking news that former President Trump was facing charges related to his mishandling of classified documents.

Republicans have rushed to the former president’s defense and condemned the investigation as the left continues its political witch hunt.

“Prosecuting political opponents through criminal law is something that Third World countries do and that the United States once opposed,” Rep. Harriet Hageman (Wyo.) said in a statement.

“The apparent indictment of Trump on numerous counts stemming from his seizure of classified material is yet another confirmation of the rule of law,” said Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). he wrote on Twitter. “For four years he acted as if he was above the law. However, he should be treated like any other criminal. And today it happened.”

“A sad day for America. God bless President Trump” – Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio) he tweeted.

“Democrats must be literally shaking with sweat as they watch Trump’s incredible, packed rallies and overwhelming poll numbers week after week,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) wrote in tweet. “We have to win in 2024.”

“This false Boxes Hoax indictment against President Trump reflects the most serious election interference by the federal government we have ever seen!” Rep. Matt Gaetz (Florida) he tweeted.

On Thursday evening, Trump was named as a criminal defendant facing at least seven charges including obstruction of justice, conspiracy and illegally retaining secret government materials. He was ordered to appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

“The corrupt Biden administration has informed my lawyers that I am facing charges, apparently in connection with the box scam, even though Joe Biden has 1,850 boxes at the University of Delaware, additional boxes in Chinatown, DC and even more boxes at the University of Pennsylvania and documents strewn across the floor “the garage where he parks his Corvette and which is ‘secured’ only by a paper-thin garage door that opens most of the time,” Trump told Truth Social after the news.

He vowed to make America great again, saying it was a black day for the country and that he was an innocent man.
