Pro-life movement sees great potential in Trump White House

The pro-life movement sees many opportunities in Donald Trump’s White House.

Trump and his vice presidential candidate, Mike Pence, identify as pro-life and have been endorsed by the pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List. The SBA List led the grassroots effort to elect Trump, knocking on more than 1.1 million doors in key battleground states such as Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Missouri during the campaign.

Now, with the Supreme Court seemingly set to maintain its conservative bias, right-to-life groups have high hopes for court rulings that will promote the culture of life. In addition, Congress now has a chance to pass legislation to defund Planned Parenthood, which performs more than 300,000 abortions a year. The Republican-led administration also has the opportunity to pass legislation to end brutal practices like partial-birth abortions — something Hillary Clinton would prefer defend“The most pro-abortion president we’ve ever seen” would also have no problem forcing Americans to fund abortions.

Here’s another reason pro-life activists are content Trump will put his name on the desk in the Oval Office.

“This is a historic moment for the pro-life movement,” Susan B. Anthony List said in a statement Wednesday. “We are poised to make the greatest executive, legislative and judicial advances in protecting unborn children and their mothers since Roe v. Wade. With a pro-life White House and Congress, four major pro-life goals are now within reach: ending painful late-term abortions, codifying the Hyde Amendment, defunding Planned Parenthood and appointing pro-life Supreme Court justices. Donald Trump has committed to achieving each of these goals.”
