Vice President JD Vance and Republicans Ohio attack the American headquarters of the Emilia Sykes national team when the process of redistribution of the state begins.
Thanks to the slim Republican majority in the American Repiata House, decision -makers on each side of the passage are already planning how to boost – or maintain – their places.
“This is extremely important for the Democrats to make sure that I was successful here in 13th place Ohio, because if not, it means that we will have to find another place elsewhere,” Sykes said in an interview on Tuesday.
The congress process of creating maps in Ohio will start soon, and one of the most endangered places is Sykes. The first chosen in 2023, the Akron Democrat represents District 13, which is the Summit, most Stark and a tiny part of Portage.
“It was already a goal for two cycles, and the third is not surprising,” she said.
The Redistrictive Commission Ohio (ORC) is controlled by GOP state leaders, and the preview of the changes they could introduce was emphasized by Vance in a speech on Monday in Kanton, promoting what the Republicans call “a great beautiful bill.”
“Emilia Sykes is not here today and you know why she is not here today? Because she does not care about any tax taxes. She doesn’t care about overtime taxes,” Vance said during her speech.
Vance dropped her name, saying that people on each side of the passage should cooperate on the regulations, and the oval office is always open to double -sided significance.
“Emilia, why is it not difficult to work with us to improve legislation if you disagree with it?” He said during the speech.
According to Sykes, she was not invited to this event. We reached the Vance team to confirm.
She agreed that she was definitely against the regulations because she claims that it would cause more damage.
“The reconciliation act will increase to the deficit, receiving food from hungry children, encouraging unemployment, increasing energy costs and none of these things is popular,” she said.
Currently, there are 10 Republicans and 5 Democrats representing Ohio in the USA Chamber, while both senators are Republicans.
The team of US Senator Berni Moreno told us on Tuesday that he thinks that Ohio should have 12-3, or 80% of Republicans.
In 2024, Moreno defeated the long-term democratic senator Sherrod Brown 50-46%.
President Donald Trump defeated former vice president of Kamala Harris 55% -44% in 2024 in Ohio. The entire general assembly in Ohio, 132 members between the Chamber and the Senate, are 71% of Republicans. Each executive office in Ohio also has selected Republicans at the top.
In a close race in the 2024 cycle, Sykes defeated the former state legislator Kevin Coughlin 51.11-48.89%.
Vance also aimed at the US Democrats representative Marcy Hood from the Toledo area for not supporting a mega GOP account, which reduces Medicaid, while codifying tax reductions and providing some incentives to enterprises. The hood barely defeated the former state legislator Derek Merrina 48.27-47.63% in 2024.
“Everyone who voted against it, I think they should pay a punishment because they voted against all the great things for the inhabitants of Akron and the inhabitants of North -East Ohio,” said Vance. “Marcy’s, I think that its district is in the north -western Ohio, but you have a lot of production and many energy employees in the north -west Ohio, who would use her voting yes.”
Other places that the Republicans began to continue is the representative of American Greg Landsman from Cincinnati. However, Landsman defeated the lawyer Orlando Sonza 54-45%.
The other two democratic fines are found in absolute blue claims. US representative Shontel Brown from Cleveland won 78% of votes in 2024, and the US representative Joyce Beatty from Columbus won 70%.
But both sides agree that the redistribution process was “messy” in Ohio.
Sykes mentioned how the two -sided Court of Ohio struck the commission maps seven times in 2022 to unjustly utilize the Republicans.
“Even after they did everything they could to get the results they wanted, they couldn’t overtake me,” said Sykes. “I was able to beat them twice and I will continue to work hard for my voters and do it again.”
The orc consists of seven places. Two will always go to Republicans and two to Democrats in the state. The other three places are the governor, secretary of state and auditor. Congressmen was originally at ORC in 2021, because at that time she was the leader of home minorities.

Pursuant to the legislators, they must have a congress map until the end of November. Matt Huffman, Marshal of the House in Ohio, said in June that in August the initial district sketching was taking place. Other Republicans told us that the talks have already begun.
