Prosecutor General Ohio Dave Yost announced the suspension of his governorate campaign on Friday, we have fans.
A week after the Ohio Republican Party officially supported the businessman and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswama in the governorate race in Ohio, Yost said that “it is visible that the steep climbing to the nomination for the governor has become a vertical cliff.”
“I do not want to divide my political party or state to make a cuxotic battle for slight differences between my vision and my opponent. I am simply not so important” – added Yost.
Yost expressed concern about the potential return of the former democratic US senator Sherrod Brown, who was recently removed in the US Senate by republican Bernie Moreno (R-OH), as some have speculated A long -time democrat from Ohio can plan a governor or other senate running.
“The attempt to return Sherrod Brown is a real and current danger for Ohio’s prosperity … It is a time to protect Ohio, not time for the family,” said Yost.
Despite the suspension of his campaign, Yost left the door open to his political future, noticing how his current term ends as the Prosecutor General in January 2027.
“My term of office as the Prosecutor General Ohio lasts until January 2027. At this time I will continue to fight for Ohio and Ohioans-and I suspect that this is not my last chapter,” said Yost.
His campaign by Yost is less than four months after the official start of the governor’s offer.
After Yost’s departure from the race, Ohio GOP, the only opponent of Ramaswamy in the basic Republican, is currently the entrepreneur Heather Hill.
Lieutenant Governor Ohio Jim Tressel, who said last week that he was considering escaping the governor in 2026, he has not yet decided whether he would question Ramaswamy about republican nomination.
