Former first lady Melania Trump on Tuesday questioned law enforcement’s actions in connection with the July 13 assassination attempt on her husband.
“Trying to end my husband’s life was a horrible, depressing experience. Now the silence around it is heavy,” she said in the video sent to X“I can’t help but wonder why law enforcement arrested the shooter before he spoke?”
“There is definitely more to this story and we need to discover the truth,” she concluded.
During a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was shot in the ear when Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire during his speech.
Trump made a full recovery and was able to attend the Republican National Convention without any major disruptions to his schedule.
IN briefing for legislatorsThe FBI said Crooks was photographed as a suspect more than an hour before the first shot was fired, and Secret Service snipers spotted him 20 minutes earlier.
A number of security vulnerabilities were also revealed, including: Trump stayed on stage although the Secret Service is monitoring an busy threat.
