Look how far Democrats have gone on illegal immigration

Many news media journalists believe that the Republican Party has moved radically to the right in recent years. It’s not true. For better or worse, the GOP has moved more toward the center on many issues. It is true that they have become more tied to one personality, which has contributed to all sorts of problems with extremism, but it has intensified and spread ideological radicalism is generally not among them. Democrats, on the other hand, have moved dramatically to the left. President Joe Biden personally embodies this change. Look at his past positions on crime, abortion, immigration and other issues. He had become somewhat unrecognizable compared to his former self. As a senator, he was the proud author of what – contemporary critics call draconian criminal law. By 2020, he indulged in the folly of “defund the police” and chose a running mate who went even further.

To have any chance of winning the Democratic nomination in the same cycle, he cynically abandoned his long-held alleged beliefs about federal funding of abortion and has, since his election, run into inhumane territory simply because that is what the party’s activist base and the leftist donor class demand. We’ll get to Biden’s flashback on immigration below, but first, here are more audio clips that support my view of the deep decline of national Democrats since the 1990s. This is Bill Clinton speaking to Congress in 1996 and committing to crack down on illegal immigration:

“There are certain areas that the federal government should not abandon and should address and address decisively. One of these areas is the problem of illegal immigration. After years of neglect, this administration has taken a mighty stance on strengthening security at our borders. We are increasing border controls by 50 percent. We are increasing the number of inspections to prevent the employment of illegal immigrants. Tonight, I am announcing that I will sign an executive order denying federal contracts to companies that employ illegal immigrants. Let me be very clear: we are still a nation of immigrants; we should be proud of this. We should honor every legal immigrant who works challenging to become a novel citizen. But we are also a nation of laws

By today’s standards, he sounds like Ted Cruz. Fast forward about ten years and there’s Barack Obama opposed illegal immigration i condemning its injustice to people undergoing legal process:

Which brings us to Joe. They say that with Donald Trump, “there’s always a tweet.” With Biden, there’s always a video clip. Like that?

He was running for president when he said it, and boy does his voice sound different – both in terms of rhetoric on illegal immigration and verbal sharpness. Here we are today, with his administration firmly siding with “sanctuary” jurisdictions, chastising the state of Texas for forcing Democratic leaders in these places to live with the consequences of their preferred policies. He made between eight and ten million illegal crossings while on duty, including nearly two million known escapes. Many Democrats even ran for the Oval Office in the last election campaign took a stance effective legalization of illegal border crossing. Biden didn’t go that far with his words, but his actual policies led to this extreme and disastrous experiment. In addition to the tens of thousands of confirmed defectors who have entered the country with impunity every month for years, the Biden administration acknowledges that over 85 percent illegal immigrants “encountered” are released to America. The border is open.

I’ll leave you with “sanctuary” governors begging Biden for more taxpayer money to address the relatively diminutive influx of migrants being sent to them by Texas Governor Greg Abbott (don’t give a dime more) – and the growing list of governors joining the US Border Patrol Association in the siding with Abbott over the Biden administration on dramatic legal and jurisdictional issues clash Eagle Pass game:

The list has only grown since Melugin first published it (Arkansas, Iowa, Ohio, Wyoming and others have been added). Countries join the fight for power and sovereignty. Republicans in Congress should also not throw Biden and his party political rescue for “bipartisan” border tinkering. Biden caused this mess himself with executive actions. He could largely fix this with the stroke of a pen, but he refuses. It is not the task of the opposition party to save it with a deeply flawed “compromise” that will not solve the problem:
