Liberal school district gives students access to irreversible, experimental transgender care

This week, Townhall reported on Ohio State Sen. J.D. Vance introducing legislation to ban irreversible transgender surgery for minors. Townhall describes how non-retirees, such as Chloe Cole, underwent this type of surgery as minors and greatly regretted it.

“Under no circumstances should doctors be allowed to perform these gruesome, irreversible surgeries on minor children. With this legislation, we have the opportunity to save countless young Americans from a lifetime of suffering and grief… I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to protect children from these life-changing procedures,” Vance told The Daily Caller, which first reported the news this story.

Documents uncovered by the parental rights group Parents Defending Education show that school health centers in Seattle Public Schools offer middle and high school students access to certain types of gender mutilation care, including referrals for irreversible surgeries (via Parents in defense of education):

School Health Centers at ul Secondary school in New Zealand AND Secondary School offer students “gender-affirming care” as part of school health services. Health centers run by Rural Doctors Community Health Centers, offer “free, comprehensive, trauma-informed and gender-affirming care, conveniently at school. The center is “staffed full-time by a clinic administrator, medical providers and a behavioral health specialist.”

According to Country Doctor Community Health Centers websitethe services it offers include “gender-affirming medications (estrogens, androgen blockers, testosterone, etc.) and injection techniques,” “hormone therapy for teenagers and, when needed, specialist referrals for younger patients,” and “referrals for gender-affirming surgery.”

The health center says it then “does not provide puberty-blocking medications to teenagers.”

“Seattle Public Schools”Gender-inclusive schools: Rights and support for transgender and gender-expansive students(Policy 3211) states that “staff shall not disclose to others an individual’s transgender status or gender or a student of gender X and it is unclear whether the student affirms the same gender identity at home, best practice is to avoid using gender pronouns.”

PDE noted that Nova Wellness Center offers care “conveniently at the school” and that “we bill appropriate services to your insurer if you have them.”

Additionally, the organization added that more than 1,000 school districts across the country have policies that allow school officials to keep students’ gender transitions secret from parents. Townhall described how this happened in New York, Colorado, Virginia, Kansas and California, where schools were exposed for hiding this information from parents. As a result, Republican Senator Tim Scott (SC) has introduced legislation that would prevent schools from concealing information about a student’s gender identity from parents. Recently, an Ohio school district was exposed for instructing teachers to report child abuse to protective services if the parents of a “transgender” student do not support the student’s gender identity.

“It’s bad enough that doctors prescribe sex hormones and cut off the breasts and genitals of minors; schools getting involved is a whole new level of awful and terrifying,” Erika Sanzi, director of Helping Parents Stand Up for Education, told Townhall.
