Ken Blackwell: Steele ‘totally wrong’

Rush Limbaugh vs. Steele controversy.

In a telephone interview today, Blackwell called Steele’s comments about CNN “unfortunate and completely wrong.” He noted that the setting likely contributed to Steele’s comments (which seemed to please the host and fellow guest, rapper Chuck D), but it was “reach out to sophomores.”

Blackwell also laughed off the idea that Rush Limbaugh wanted to run the RNC, saying that “being chairman of the Republican Party would be a step back for him… it’s a smaller box.”

He also noted that during the 2006 races, both he and Steele were on Rush’s show: “All of a sudden, it’s a little weird and unfortunate to be casting aspersions,” he said.

Note: I’m trying to get comments from Steele’s top supporters, incl Sean Hannity AND Bill Bennett – both conservative radio hosts.
