As we get closer to the 2024 elections, it still looks like Republicans have a good chance of regaining control of the Senate. In addition to the pickup opportunities that Republicans have, Democrats have NO have many of them. As a Messenger covered in connection with the November 4 event, Tester spoke about the state of many races.
He talked about the need for support. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Bob Casey Jr. from Pennsylvania, Jacky Rosen from Nevada, and Tammy Baldwin from Wisconsin. “I know you helped them,” Tester told the participants.
He made a special call for the Pennsylvania race. “Bob Casey was supposed to have an easy race,” he said. “I’ve been watching this race very closely because it may not be as easy as we hoped.” Casey will almost certainly face Dave McCormick, who also ran in the 2022 GOP primary, to fill the seat open as Republican Sen. Pat Toomey retires.
McCormick narrowly lost the nomination to Dr. Mehmet Oz, who ultimately lost to incumbent Senator John Fetterman.
After the official announcement in September, McCormick received the support of all of Pennsylvania’s Republican members of Congress. Shortly thereafter, he received the nomination of the Pennsylvania Republican Party.
The McCormick campaign was quick to highlight the report in a press release and also drew attention to it in a post from TeamMcormick.

As for Democrats’ potential chances, Texas is considered one of them, and Republican Colin Allred is largely seen as the favorite to face Sen. Ted Cruz. However, a report by TheMessenger noticed this Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) Chairman Gary Peters of Michigan is not endorsing the primary. However, forecasters do still consider this race as “probably Republican.”
A Fox News report also surfaced earlier this week highlighted as Tester appeared “with a high-profile Democratic donor linked to lending discrimination allegations, which comes on the heels of a vulnerable politician who also received fundraising help last summer from someone linked to corruption allegations.” He raised nearly $1 million from donors in California. This recent event, as well as the one in June, was hosted by Nancy Stephens and Rick Rosenthal.
