Governor Ohio Jim Tressel announced on X on Friday afternoon that after many “significant thinking and prayer” will not be part of the 2026 race for the Governor of Buckeye.
“It was an extraordinary honor of life for Ellen and me to serve alongside the governor Mike Dewine and the first lady Fran Dewine,” wrote Tressel in The Post. “After considerable thinking and prayer, we decided not to run for a governor in 2026.”
Tressel said that he would focus the rest of his term on devoting full attention to educational problems and labor in Ohio.
Tressela’s decision opens a simpler path through the basic GOP for Vivek Ramaswama, who won Nomination of the party party party Ohio For the governor in May.
At the moment he is on the right track to face the democrat of Amy Acton in the universal elections in November next year.
