Home minority leader Hakeem Jeffries on Monday nominated A representative of California Eric Swalwell as the best democrat in the newly broken panel on January 6.

The new eight -person panel will operate as part of the Chamber’s Court Commission and will be obliged to publish the final report by the end of 2026.
Johnson has not yet called other Republican committee members.
During the first iteration of January 6 of the Selection Committee, members were: representatives of Bennie Thompson (D-MS-02), Zoe Lofgren (D-Ca-18), Adam Schiff (D-Ca-30), Pete Aguilar (D-Ca-33), Stephanie Murphy (D-FL-07), Jamie Raskin (D-MD-08), Elaine Luulo) (D-VA-02), Liz Cheney (R-WY-01) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL-16).
