The news of a train derailment in Palestine, Ohio is getting worse by the day as local government officials try to censor information and signs of chemical contamination become clearer. As Spencer reported on Monday, the scene was described as a “city-wide nuclear attack.”
During an interview with Fox News on Monday night, Republican Senator J.D. Vance discussed the situation, making a key point about the trillions of dollars in federal, taxpayer-funded infrastructure spending that has apparently led to worsening conditions on the railroad.

Meanwhile, the situation continues to affect terrified residents of Palestine and beyond.
“Why did this happen? Once everyone is safe and orderly, we will turn our attention to how to prevent this from happening in the future. Many questions remain unanswered regarding the quality of the braking system used, the durability of repaired parts on trains and the Department of Transport’s regulatory approach to the national rail system. Beyond this incident, there is a disturbing trend of catastrophic infrastructure problems across our country, and my office will investigate more than a few reports of sabotage to these concerns in the coming weeks,” Vance said in a statement on the situation. “I am committed to ensuring that the relevant authorities do not use the tests carried out as permission to pack up and go home. This is a complex ecological disaster whose effects may be difficult to assess in the short term. Long-term studies will be necessary. As does Norfolk Southern’s long-term commitment to remediate the property damaged, wildlife devastated and the community traumatized by this accident.”
