Voters in Texas’ 6th Congressional District elected state Rep. Jake Ellzey in a special election Tuesday night. Ellzey defeated former President Trump-backed candidate Susan Wright, whose delayed husband previously held the seat. Wright was also endorsed by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).
Now, as Election Day votes begin to trickle in in Tarrant and Navarro Counties, Jake Ellzey(R) with 13,820 votes (52.80%) still leads Susan Wright(R) with 12,354 votes (47.20%) in the additional runoff election in District TX-06. https://t.co/u5Zhy1FOjU photo:twitter.com/cRdOAzqorQ

Democrats were eliminated from the runoff election in May, guaranteeing GOP control of the seat. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) congratulated Ellzey on her “hard-fought” victory.
“Congratulations to Jake Ellzey on a hard-fought victory. #TX06 “The district elected a staunch conservative who will fight the Democrats’ socialist agenda of open borders, higher taxes, and massive spending packages that are causing the prices of goods to skyrocket,” Chairman Tom Emmer (R-MN) said in a statement.
