J.D. Vance wins the Ohio Senate race

Late Tuesday evening, Decision Center announced the Ohio Senate race in favor of GOP candidate J.D. Vance. He ran against Republican Tim Ryan (D-OH), who was to replace retiring Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), who had endorsed another Republican.

The race was called at 23:03. With an estimated majority of 96% of the votes, Vance leads with 53.44% of the votes to Ryan’s 46.56%.

Vance gave impressive debates and town hall performances, while Rep. Ryan came down with desperation during every Fox News debate and town hall. The Democrat who tried to portray himself as the “independent voice of Ohio” also couldn’t escape the fact that he voted with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) 100% of the time.

Despite his loyalty to Democratic leadership and regardless of what the congressman tried to portray, Ryan was largely abandoned by his party in the race. Although MSNBC’s Joy Reid admitted that this was the reason she predicted Ryan would lose, and he did, it is not the only reason he lost.

Forecasts and polls he favored Vanceespecially at the end of what was generally considered a “Lean Republican” race.

Vance’s victory is also a major victory for former President Donald Trump, who endorsed Vance in April and campaigned for him several times, including the night before the election.

During his victory speech in Columbus, Vance expressed appreciation for other statewide Republicans he won, including Gov. Mike Dewine, who was elected to a second term. Headquarters of the Decisions Office called a race much earlier in the evening, DeWine defeated Democratic candidate Nan Whaley. With 96% of the vote, DeWine has 62.88% of the vote while Whaley has 37.12% of the vote.
