Dude, what are you smoking? Seriously, I mean, what the hell is this? You’ve already quarreled with the party, Mr. Kasich. And now you’re not only endorsing Joe Biden for president, but you’re speaking at their convention. I don’t know what Kasich thinks – I don’t know. Does he think that somehow, after Biden wins, the GOP will return to the elderly days? Those days are gone. They are over. Ready. Everyone who didn’t like Trump retired or resigned. The Republican Party is currently a right-wing populist party. And if you pay attention, this is a party that still largely stands for nearly 90 percent of what the elderly Reagan coalition stood for over the last 25 years. The delivery isn’t as polished – but who cares. Trump is getting results. I am a proud Trump Republican, as is most of this base. Yes, there are annoying people who miss the days gone by. They can still hop on the Trump train. Well, anyone can still do it, except John Kasich, who’s speaking at the Democratic National Convention tonight to break down tribalism or something (via NOW):
Four years ago, John R. Kasich thought it was unthinkable to vote for Donald J. Trump in the presidential election, but he couldn’t bring himself to vote for Hillary Clinton, wrote Senator John McCain of Arizona.
Not this time. Kasich, a lifelong Republican who has spent decades in politics – as a state legislator, congressman, Ohio governor and presidential candidate – will become his party’s most significant leader, cutting across partisan lines and supporting former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. ., speaking at this week’s Democratic National Convention and then voting for him this fall.
“I had no intention of voting for anyone else,” Kasich said in an interview before his speech Monday night. “I just wasn’t going to do it this time. I did it last time. You know, I always hoped, even after the convention and after the election, that maybe we would see a change in president, but that never happened. I happen to think that the soul of our country is being destroyed, and that’s what I’m concerned about.”
[…]
Kasich said he remains a Republican and acknowledged he deeply disagrees with Biden on many issues, but said individual policy differences are less important than the broader crisis facing the country.
“Someone has to start wanting to break down this tribalism,” he said. I don’t think I can do it, but someone has to start. Someone needs to start saying, “No, you need to take off your partisan hat and realize that we are Americans.”
John Kasich speaks at DNCC tonight. As part of his pre-speech media attack, he strikes out @aocone of our rising stars. *Yes* I’m glad we gave the anti-choice union president a first place to speak. I’m sure this will convince at least five voters. https://t.co/Z4V833ep2P pic.twitter.com/oW5muL9cLN

Republican @JohnKasich he previews his DNC speech, slandering @AOC and stating that he does not necessarily represent the Democratic Party. https://t.co/JlDUnmT94C pic.twitter.com/snyT6CJpXD

More Republicans joined Ohio Governor John Kasich today in his speech at the Democratic National Convention:
– Frmr New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman
– Frmr NY Rep. Susanna Molinari
– Meg Whitman, Romney’s 2012 advisor and 2010 candidate for California governor (who also supported Clinton in 2016)— Emily Larsen (@emilyelarsen) August 17, 2020
We can build bridges and not lose sight of our values.
Please remember that Kasich is an anti-choice extremist. He will 100% waive (and has waived) our reproductive rights as soon as he has the opportunity. He is not a friend of the employees.https://t.co/7S8504VZcK

According to the recent DNC list, more Republicans now speak on the first day alone than Latino Democrats throughout the entire four-day convention. https://t.co/quXNIEhJ68

Face it
The Democratic Party’s strategy for 2020 is: “F left. F progressive politics. Let’s support the Republicans.”
Will this work? https://t.co/3mkaVE6JZv

It’s infuriating that the DNC believes that to win this election it has to win over Republicans who don’t like Trump, rather than getting its huge base of young progressives to vote.
There is absolutely no justification for this strategy except simple hatred of progressives.

Can someone give me a clear explanation of Meg Whitman’s presence on the Democratic convention stage?

Mike Bloomberg, John Kasich, Pete Buttigieg, and 60 seconds of pre-recorded, officially sanctioned AOC are actually a perfect representation of the Dem party.

REPUBLICAN John Kasich has more time to speak at the DEMOCRATIC national convention than @AOC. That’s all.

To break tribalism, we should…vote for some person that I oppose on almost every issue that is based on a leftist authoritarian ethos? This sounds idiotic. This sounds downright stupid. This sounds like the kind of logic that explains why the Kasich Republicans have been wiped out and have to reach out to…the Democrats in a desperate, pathetic attempt to stay relevant. Kasich is a clown. He is a traitor to the party. And after tonight, he should be thrown in the trash. Besides, even the Democrats don’t want him there. The party’s base doesn’t want him there, and there’s the issue of how he gets speaking time when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez only received a 60-second pre-recorded message. Oh, and he attacked her too. AOC is the future of the Democratic Party whether we like it or not, and this guy thinks the best solution is to attack the primary favorite. This is a complete disaster and is yet another reason why perhaps Kasich should simply disappear from politics forever after 2016.
According to Frank Underwood, Kasich should be separated from the herd and left in the desert to die… politically speaking. Tonight is a swan song for a total and complete clown that won’t be missed.
