A pair of Republican lawmakers on Monday sharply criticized the committee’s Jan. 6 report on the Capitol riot after footage of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi taking the blame for the security failure exposed errors in the committee’s findings.
“Pelosi said in the film that it “takes responsibility” to better prepare for the riots in which thousands of former President Donald Trump’s supporters interrupted the certification of Electoral College votes after the 2020 presidential election.
Pelosi’s J6 Select Committee spent taxpayers’ money chasing down false political narratives and using Hollywood producers for their “investigations.”

The former speaker organized a commission to investigate the riot, but House Republicans, led by Georgia Rep. Barry Loudermilk, did not the Democrat-led committee said on January 6 he withheld vital evidence from the public.
Loudermilk said the footage of Pelosi admitting blame for the security failure led him to question the Jan. 6 report and who was responsible for denying requests to the National Guard.
“It showed me that at least the speaker herself admitted she wasn’t prepared” – Loudermilk he said on the program, “Only news, no noise” “If she didn’t know it was even requested, who on her staff or who wouldn’t have agreed to a request for the National Guard? … What’s surprising to me is that she said, ‘Hey, I take responsibility for this,’ and then the select committee spent $18 million trying to say that Trump was responsible for the fact that the National Guard wasn’t there and that the Capitol was breached. “
Loudermilk commented that his committee is also working on producing its own compilation of the subcommittee’s Jan. 6 report, which will shed lightweight on alleged inaccuracies in the select committee’s report.
“We can’t necessarily go in there and just roll back what another Congress did,” Loudermilk said. “But there are some things we can do to provide our own report. Please also bring to light the discrepancies, contradictions and lies contained in the select committee report and at least let Congress know that this report is not credible. It was biased, it was a political violation of the law, and that the American people and the history books should not treat it as a factual account of what happened that day.”
Ohio GOP Rep. Warren Davidson also said video footage recorded by Pelosi’s daughter for the HBO documentary contradicted the committee’s report.
“What we haven’t done is find out the truth about what actually happened on January 6,” Davidson said on the television program “Just the News, No Noise.” “What Nancy Pelosi created was a sham partisan committee designed to cover up the failures… [of] what happened on the Capitol grounds. How was it that protesters were even able to breach Capitol security and proceed through the Capitol?”
He continued: “There was no sense that any level of violence could defeat the nation’s capital. And Nancy Pelosi is clearly in it [the video] she admits that she failed as a leader, which is an important admission. They did nothing to expose it, in fact they destroyed evidence and worked to cover it up.”
