After 17 months of relentless investigation, House Republicans decide to impose consequences on federal bureaucrats they believe have used the government for political purposes. Key lawmakers say the first round will come in the form of budget cuts and criminal justice diversions Only News.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan launched the first major strike of this fresh phase, unveiling a sweeping action plan Monday to defund agencies and prosecutors that have prosecuted conservatives, including former President Donald Trump.
“[We] I should use the power of the purse, I was all for it, that’s why I was against big omnibus spending, that’s why I’m against it, you know, when we gave 200 million for a new FBI headquarters, for God’s sake, how bad was that, was that it? But yes, we should use the power of the wallet. Unfortunately, we didn’t do it to the degree we needed to, we just didn’t do it,” Jordan said John Solomon reports podcast on Monday.
“We’re working on conversations with the Appropriations Committee about … what we should focus on for these appropriations bills. So these are all levers that we should utilize,” he added.
Another influential House Speaker has moved closer to President Joe Biden, vowing to take the case to court asking prosecutors to charge first son Hunter Biden with lying to Congress.
“This is another thing that needs to be moved forward, no doubt based on evidence provided to the Ways and Means Committee from two IRS whistleblowers who, in fact, highlighted that Hunter Biden, on February 28, when he took the stand, lied to Congress at least on three different reasons presented by the IRS whistleblowers, and that alone should definitely require a criminal referral for Hunter Biden,” Chairman Jason Smith of the House Ways and Means Committee said on “Just the News, No Noise.” TV program on Monday.
The public health authority, widely criticized for bungling its response to the Covid-19 pandemic, has also been targeted by Chairman Brad Wenstrup of the Special Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, who said Only News that his committee will investigate the criminal referrals of Fauci and other officials from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
“And then… there should definitely be an effort to establish the amount of criminal liability that exists there, because why wouldn’t people do it again?” – said Wenstrup Only News after hearing testimony on Monday from Dr. Anthony Fauci, a leading figure in the coronavirus response.
House Republicans plan to focus on these accountability measures as the 2024 elections approach. Speaker Jordan recognizes the constraints this timeline creates, but pledged to continue to act, acknowledging that Only News on Monday, his subcommittee examining the federal government’s weapons effort secured $4.5 million in fresh funding.
The House Subcommittee on Arming the Federal Government is investigating reports of criminals and has prepared a proposal to refund funds to agencies that prosecuted Republican critics of the Biden administration, especially former President Donald Trump.
The cash infusion will strengthen the subcommittee’s weapons investigations throughout the summer with 15 fresh hires as the 2024 presidential election approaches. The request for additional funds was first submitted by Jordan in a letter to the House Administration Committee in December, obtained by Only News.
“[W]we’ve probably hired 15 additional people, we’ve got one of the largest justice workforce, maybe ever. But we, and you know, we’re conservative, we don’t want to just spend taxpayers’ money, but in carrying out oversight, which is part of our constitutional obligation, you have to have resources and good staff, good lawyers, good investigators to get to the bottom of the matter,” Jordan said John Solomon reports podcast on Monday.
“That’s how we came to the conclusion that, you know, you go to whistleblowers who come and talk to us and present our work, we solved the censorship problem, we found out, you know, the FBI and the Richmond field office said, if you’re Catholic and you’re pro-life , you are an extremist,” he added, referring to the subcommittee’s previous investigations.
The subcommittee’s investigation into allegedly politically motivated conduct is ongoing and reached a fresh phase last weekend after former President Donald Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Jordan turned to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and his lead prosecutor in the case, Michael Colangelo appear before his committee in two letters sent on Friday. The hearing is scheduled for June 13.
“This hearing will examine actions by state and local prosecutors to bring politically motivated criminal prosecutions against federal officials, particularly the recent political prosecution of President Donald Trump by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office,” Jordan wrote in his letter to Bragg.
On Monday, Chairman Jordan sent fresh letter to the chairman of the House Appropriations Committee detailing his fiscal year 2025 budget proposals, which include recommendations to defund state and local prosecutors, defund a special prosecutor prosecuting a former president, and eliminate nonessential funding from the FBI.
“We have overseen a disturbing raise in politicized criminal prosecutions and the utilize of abusive ‘unlawful activities’ tactics to target political opponents. We have seen dishonest prosecutors who abused the rules of professional conduct and the duty to administer justice in the service of politicized goals. We recommend that the Appropriations Committee, after appropriate consultation with leadership, include language to eliminate federal funding for state prosecutors or state attorneys general engaged in law-related activities and to zero federal funding for federal prosecutors engaged in such abuses,” Jordan wrote .
“We recommend that the Appropriations Committee include language to eliminate all funding for the FBI that is not necessary for the agency to carry out its mission, including rescinding previous appropriations and prohibiting taxpayer funding of any new FBI headquarters,” he also wrote in letter article.
One of Jordan’s previous investigations involved the FBI it turned out that the agency was aimed at classic Catholics as “radical” and tried to link them to “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists.”
– said Chairman Wenstrup Only News that his committee will investigate the criminal referrals of Fauci and other officials from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. His comments came after a Capitol Hill hearing with Anthony Fauci on the response to Covid-19.
Both Fauci and his adviser, Dr. David Morens, allegedly used private emails for work communications. Committee accused Morens engaging in “nefarious conduct” by describing in emails that he had communicated with Fauci via private emails in order to avoid liability under the Freedom of Information Act, which allows the public to obtain government documents.
“Well, I certainly think what Dr. Morens did is a good, good starting point, but we haven’t finished further exploring this issue. Keep in mind that one of the things he said was that he uses his Gmail, and Tony sometimes uses his Gmail, which we discovered in Gmail. So we asked Dr. Fauci for all his emails. Today he said he never used it for personal purposes. It could be. I don’t know and we should find out,” Wenstrup told the television program “Just the News, No Noise” on Monday.
“And then… there should definitely be an effort to establish the amount of criminal liability that exists there, because why wouldn’t people do it again?” The chairman added.
During the hearing, Fauci denied communicating for work purposes via his personal email.
Chairman Smith of the House Ways and Means Committee wants to nail another person accused of lying, namely first son Hunter Biden. Blacksmith was the first to accuse the younger Biden of lying last month, identifying three parts of the first son’s testimony that contradict information provided to his committee by IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler.
For example, text message recordings show that Hunter Biden continued to talk to an official of the Chinese energy company “Zhao”, whom he threatened, citing his father, even though in his testimony he originally claimed that he was drunk and sent a text message to the wrong person. persons.
“Hunter Biden’s testimony is key to understanding the family’s attempts to conceal how the family made millions selling access,” Smith said in a statement last month. “However, new documents provided by whistleblowers show that Hunter Biden repeatedly lied to Congress in his February testimony to distance his involvement in what should be considered an explicit scheme to enrich the Biden family.”
The three presidents see the upcoming election as an opportunity after criticizing the Biden administration for being ponderous to respond to their inquiries and saying they face roadblocks.
“We saw further setbacks in the Biden administration where we received really important documents from two IRS whistleblowers who came forward,” Chairman Smith said.
“Ultimately, it will be up to the Trump administration to decide who the next attorney general will be […] Fauci’s concerns and the things we’ve been told are untrue,” Jordan said John Solomon reports podcast.
