‘He’s a buffoon’: CNN conservative panelist roasts Tim Walz after former Harris Spox praised Democrats’ vice presidential pick

CNN’s Scott Jennings criticized Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz on Sunday after a panelist called Walz a “consistent” choice for Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.

Walz and Republican Sen. J.D. Vance are ready face it during their first debate, in which their parties select their running mates, hosted by CBS News on Tuesday. On “State of the Union,” Harris’ former communications director, Ashley Etienne, accused Vance of causing “more damage” to the Republican ticket, praising Walz for bridging the “cultural divide” among voters.

“I think from what I’ve seen in all of this, there’s never been a time before when the choice of a vice president has had such a huge impact on the actual advantage in the ratings. Look at J.D. Vance, who was supposed to somehow raise Donald Trump’s reach, but instead he actually did more harm than good,” Etienne said.

“But looking at Governor Walz, the reason – the smart, smart choice – the reason he was elected is to bridge the cultural divide,” Etienne continued. “To reach constituencies that the Democratic Party has had a demanding time reaching – moderate Republicans, Republicans who are dissatisfied with the report, independent Republicans. It signals to the constituency that it is OK to vote for this seat. So he is extremely vital to Kamala Harris…

CNN host Jake Tapper chimed in, noting that Jennings “chuckled” at Etienne’s statement and urged him to express his thoughts. Jennings rejected Etienne, criticizing him Walz for a “free ride under Harris” and expressed hope that Vance would “get under his skin” in the upcoming debate.

– Well, first of all, I don’t think they’re vital. Secondly, Walz is a buffoon. Sorry, this guy is the only teacher in America who brags that none of his students can get into an Ivy League school. He said that as a result of one of his press interviews with our Dana, Bash asked him about the fabrications on his own biography, and his response was basically, “I don’t understand the words very well.” I mean, he’s a buffoon,” Jennings said.

“He’s on a free ride for running under Harris. He gets very little press, they don’t let him talk to the press for no reason. I want one thing from this debate,” Jennings continued. “I want JD Vance to come out and get under his skin. He has a legendary hot and short temper. Many governors do this, but apparently he does. I want JD Vance to go there and ask him to explain why he is denigrating JD Vance’s story – small town America finally made something better out of his life, which is what we should want for every child.”

Since Harris chose the governor of Minnesota as her running mate, Walz has had to deal with the situation head-on accusations for “stolen valor” for allegedly abandoning the battalion in 2005 upon learning of its deployment to Iraq. Although Walz denied the claims in August, two veterans who served with him criticized him in a 2018 letter, accusing him of “betraying his country” by retiring before the unit deployed. According to to the New York Post.

Vance further challenged Walz in behind schedule August, stating that he was “proud” to attend Yale University after the Minnesota governor jabbed at the Ohio senator during his Democratic National Committee (DNC), stating that none of his students “went to Yale “. According to to the Hill.
