Ohio Governor Mike Dewine does not consider sending soldiers of the National Guard to Chicago in the latest Administration Plan Trump Mobilization of the Army – but this can change after receiving the request, said his team.
At the last press conference, President Donald Trump told reporters that Chicago is a “hellish hole.”
“Well, we enter,” said Trump. “I didn’t say when we enter.”
At least eight people were killed and 58 others were injured during the shooting at the Labor Day weekend, said the police in Chicago. Violence is the reason why Trump, although he threatened to come to the city, made a decision.
“Listen, I have a duty,” he said. “This is not a political matter.”
Currently, over 150 members of the National Guard from Ohio have been mobilized in Washington for almost two weeks.
“Their works were, they still guard federal buildings and perform some patrols,” said Dewin.
Trump’s administration asked Dewine to place soldiers, and JD Vance vice president said that he would facilitate reduce crime.
“The domestic capital of the most powerful nation in the history of the world had a murder every other day, thefts, armed robberies that compete with literal countries of the Third World,” said Vance at the party.
According to DC police, crimes with violence are 30 years elderly. Recently, soldiers have been noticed, cleansing garbage and landscape.
“To see these people walking with large garbage bags in the national shopping center, it is simply not the best use of these people, and to be honest, not the best use of taxpayers’ money,” said Veteran and lawyer Adam Miller.
A joint task group – a district of the spokesman for Colombia, said that the army from Ohio was not on the patrol of rubbish.
Miller gathered with about 30 other protesters when the soldiers first reached DC, arguing that he would bring them home.
“Cancel this unsuccessful, legally problematic and unjustified mission,” he said.
And the federal judge agreed – at least to the distribution of Trump in Los Angeles. Judge California ruled that the president illegally sent soldiers in June to suppress immigration protests, because federal law states that the army cannot be used for “national law enforcement agencies” in accordance with the Act on Posse Comitatus.
The judge ruled that Trump must stop using a military “to make regulations, including, among others, engaging arrests, fears, searches, seizures, security patrols, movement control, crowd control, conflict control, collecting evidence, interrogation or action as informants”, unless it achieves federal threshold.
“Does the mission ahead of us meet the requirements of federal law and state law that implements this law in our federal system?” And if this is not the case, we do not send our soldiers – said Miller.
Trump’s team rejected the ruling, and the president said that he actually helped California to limit anti-I protests.
Dewine spokesman Dan Tierney said that this ruling has no same conclusion in DC, because Trump has more power in the capital.
Tierney said that they could not consider sending soldiers to other cities without seeing the order, and therefore he is not considering it yet.
However, Dewine has repeatedly repeated that he approved the DC request because he tends to accept each query, as in the past, both for republican and democratic leaders of other states during natural disasters or mayors, when citizens’ unrest appears in Ohio cities.
“My decision to send the National Guard to Washington is the same reason I made Columbus – shared when the mayor of Columbus wanted a guard – in the same way with Cleveland,” said the governor.
DC’s arrangement will last 30 days, but the governor’s team said that if Trump asks and expand.
