The most complex debates are those at the beginning of the cycle. Before you get to the sixth, just like GOP candidates last night, it gets much easier.
They know the rhythms of their opponents – which they will probably say and how can they say. They know their own riffs while on the campaign trail for many months. They have a better feeling of how long the test will be, so it’s better to circulate.
