The Biden administration has chosen a fight it will lose. Not with Republicans in Congress. Not with the Taliban, China or Big Oil. They have made an enemy of one of America’s greatest sleeping giants: parents.
Naturally, it all starts with COVID, because everything we have done as a nation over the last two years cannot escape the topic. But in this case, COVID has done the American parent a huge favor. With virtually all school doors closed and school-age children locked away from their computers at home for the entire academic year, parents were given a front-row seat to their children’s virtual classrooms.
They heard firsthand in real time, many of them for the first time in their lives, about the subversive and subtle way their school districts’ curriculum taught students racist concepts of “critical race theory.” Both black and white parents were horrified that their children were instructed to judge people solely by the color of their skin, and that skin color alone determined all outcomes in life.
School parents have begun to trace much of this racist rhetoric to a relatively recent position created in the administrative offices of many school districts, often called the director of diversity equity and inclusion. Nice-sounding title, right? Who could argue against nice words like diversity, equality and inclusion?
Many districts have created high-paying, often six-figure positions to prove how diverse, equitable and inclusive they are. Of course, the racist bullshit that DEI executives spew from their offices is not inclusive. At best, it causes division and corrosion.
That’s when parents started wondering who was approving such positions. DEI executives didn’t appear out of nowhere. Enter your local school board. The same group in many communities that advocated for the unscientific and devastating isolation of our children cheered on teachers unions determined to keep children locked up at home forever.
When they could no longer keep the fear of children and parents at home, many local school boards decided that the solution instead was the unscientific and abusive wearing of masks by everyone attending school.
All this following the decision of many of the same school boards to create gender-specific student restrooms, leading to hideous results such as rape two students from schools in Loudoun County, Virginia. The rapist was a student who gained effortless access to the girls’ restroom simply because he wore a skirt when entering the school, as approved by school board regulations. I will write more about this story later.
Tired and irate parents across the country began attending school board meetings in person, demanding to be heard. Parent turnout became so high that many boards began eliminating public comments or drastically limiting each parent’s speaking time. Crowds gathered in board meeting parking lots as well as in online viewing rooms and chat rooms to stream the meetings live.
It was then that many arrogant, opinionated, haughty, entitled and stuck-up school officials declared war on their constituents. Interrupting speakers mid-sentence, scolding participants for their tone, snatching microphones from speakers when they’ve heard enough, calling security, and in some cases completely whitewashing speakers’ testimony from public records. School boards liked it better when no one came to their meetings and they could pat themselves on the back for sticking to radical spending and voting on curricula.
Many parents also learned that their local school board was a member of the state school board association and their state school board association was a member of the National School Board Association. Nothing speaks to local decision-making like a “national association” of local decision-makers. It’s a bureaucratic joke that such an organization exists.
As parents became more and more vocal, school board associations decided it was time to declare war on parents who dared to show up at their meetings and upset their fiefdoms. Sending a letter to “the most popular man ever elected,” NSBA filed a petition Joe Biden to do something about the “chaotic pattern of threats and violence” at school board meetings.
Mainstream media in cooperation with the White House began selling a narrative of “dangerous” parents becoming “violent” at school board meetings across the country. Disturbing videos have been aired repeatedly to prove their point, showing one in particular an irate man lashing out in anger at a school board in Loudoun County, Virginia. The police even had to restrain the crazy parent. You see? Parents are a danger!
Biden’s Justice Department sprung to act after Attorney General Merrick Garland deemed the NSBA memo worthy of FBI consideration and promised that the nation’s top law enforcement agency would begin screening school board meeting attendees from coast to coast.
What the Attorney General failed to disclose before launching an authoritarian crackdown on American parents’ speech was his son-in-law’s highly lucrative activities. Work with school districts across the country selling critical race theory curricula. Oh, and the media didn’t reveal that the “lunatic” was the parent we all saw being restrained by the police elderly footage depicting the father of one of the raped students in Loudoun County, Virginia, lashing out at the principal when he and the board openly lied that the rapes never happened and implied they had no idea about them.
The parent knew they were lying to his face. Recently member of the board resigned over the scandal. The video we’ve all seen wasn’t the father lashing out at CRTs or masks in rage; he took revenge for the rape of his little girls in front of a bunch of political, heartless toads on his school board.
The lies continued to come to featherlight quickly. Parents were not intimidated or forced to remain mute. They got louder. They launched their own campaigns to challenge school board members in their communities. There has been a recent buzz about state school board associations in states such as Pennsylvania, Missouri and Ohio he renounced their membership in the National Association of School Boards.
U.S. Senators Cruz, Hawley, and Cotton disregarded the Attorney General and subpoenaed him resignation in disgrace this week. There are students in the once blue fortress of Virginia Exit classes in protest, and the Republican challenges the establishment Democrat dead heat he will enter the gubernatorial election next week. Meanwhile, he is “the president who got the most votes in the history of the country.” underwater in every acceptance survey.
All of this can largely be attributed to the parents.
Let this be a lesson to every official at every level of government – local, state and federal. Don’t mess with American parents or their children unless you want to argue. This is a fight you will surely lose.
