DNC announces convention speaker schedule

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has released its speaking schedule for the nominating convention that will take place next week, when former Vice President Joe Biden will formally accept the presidential nomination.

The lineup, announced as voters await Biden’s choice of vice president, includes the Obamas, former Secretary of State John Kerry and many current lawmakers. Before Biden was announced as vice president, most of the women who were rumored to be candidates were given speaking slots, including Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D). Former Obama administration national security adviser Susan Rice and Rep. Karen Bass (R-Calif.) are not yet on the schedule but are believed to be candidates for the vice presidential position.

Former Ohio Governor John Kasich is particularly present on the DNC lineup actively agitating for Biden. The Republican National Committee (RNC) has not yet released a schedule, and President Trump has not announced the location of his speech.

Biden is expected to announce his running mate this week.
