As Congressional Democrats’ “shutdown” of the federal government enters its fourth week, most people have a straightforward question: What does the “end game” look like and what are realistic outcomes? It is abundantly clear that the vision of “success” in this battle is completely different for each side. There is no obvious central position or compromise.
Republicans have made clear that their end game is clear. Fund the government at current levels until November 21 and allow time to negotiate differences on policy points. Democrats, unfortunately, aren’t as open about what their end game will be. Simply put, they have entered into a winner-takes-all fight in which the only way out is complete surrender by the President and the Republicans. This isn’t realistic; in fact, he is as delusional and detached from reality as possible.
Are Democrats in Congress and across the country really so out of touch with reality that they actually believe Republicans will cave, slash key provisions of the Big Beautiful Act they worked so challenging to pass, and entrench leftist agendas on illegal immigrants and excessive, crazy spending just to end the shutdown? Apparently so.
But these are not stupid people. What if that’s not the real goal? What if the constant repetition and cheating are part of a completely different game, one in which you’re competing for a much bigger prize? If leftists can’t honestly think they can make Obamacare’s momentary subsidies enduring and realize that “health care for illegal aliens” is a toxic position to be in, then what do they care about?
As the break continues, the pressure will begin to augment. Federal workers will lose more paychecks. The administration will have to scramble to find the funds to pay the military in the corners of government, which is the equivalent of scraping the change from sofa cushions. States will begin to phase out Medicaid and food stamps will begin to run out. In tiny, the military and the socialist welfare state will come to an end. This is the moment the far left believes they can find influence over President Trump.
They see this set of terms as final and mutually beneficial. Either nervous, weak-kneed Senate Republicans give in and give the Democrats what they demand, or President Trump faces an ominous choice – or face the wrath of the color revolution crowds looking for the promised socialist grab; or take decisive action. And this decisive action can only be the declaration of a state of emergency, equivalent to martial law.
Neo-Marxists in the mainstream media and the Democratic Party will have their own authoritarian dictator, and they will push, shove, and invent to force President Trump to exercise ultimate executive power. In their opinion, this will ensure their success in the elections in 2026 and beyond. And in their fevered minds, this will be the end of Trump’s restaurant. This would be the pinnacle of MAGA, allowing the globalists and their trolls in government, academia and Hollywood to start taking back what people have wrested from their death grip.
Provocation. Provoke the President to take matters into his own hands, keep his oath to defend the nation against all enemies foreign and now domestic. And when he does, all hell will break loose.
The planned and secretly financed riots that George Floyd became notable for may seem like a walk in the park compared to what will be unleashed. The controlled, corporate media would broadcast an endless stream of propaganda. Local governments controlled by the Democratic left will put as many barriers as possible on the path to a return to stability. Just as Los Angeles County currently pays for rent and support services for illegal aliens, we will surely see local Democratic bosses raid and defraud taxpayers for every possible scam.
And Democratic “leaders” in Congress will pontificate every hour and demand a pound of flesh from every American.
This is what’s coming if Democrats don’t see reason and fund the government. But if they want confrontation, they will get confrontation. President Trump will not back down and give them the corrupt benefits they demand. The Make American Great Again movement in this country will never allow that to happen.
Buckle up! This could be a very bumpy end to the year.
