Universities are becoming more and more competitive because the boost in the number of American and foreign students applying for registration increases. Many American students are often unable to attend the preferred universities because of this competitiveness. As the number of fields requiring higher education increases, our universities should first determine the priority of Americans for registration.
Institute of International Education (Iie) announced In November, there are over 1.1 million foreign students in visas. They currently constitute 6% of students’ entries to higher education. India had the largest number of students in American schools in about 332,000 students. China took second place from 277,000.
Although enabling foreign students at American universities is not necessarily bad, they should be allowed to register only if there are no more Americans looking for attendance.
Universities with supreme number Foreign students are New York University at 27 247, Northeastern University at 21 023 and Columbia University at 20 321.
. adoption indicator For New York University, it is only 7.7%and the sum 57 335 students. Limits citizens constitute 48% of the student student body. This is a registration in which the university should have been considering Americans first.
Northeastern University is not very different. The university has adoption indicator 6% with sum 31 159 students. Most students enrolled in the north -east are a foreigner at 67%.
Columbia University is one of the most prestigious universities in the country and the institution of Ivy League with adoption indicator only 4%. Generally school attendance Is 34 782, which means that foreign students constitute 58% of entries.
Recruitment processes and the adoption of the most prestigious and sought after universities in America are dominated by foreigners. Given the low rate of acceptance of each of these universities, it seems that this is a coordinated effort of the management despite the Supreme Court Banking Affirmative action in 2023 in the case of admission to studies.
Limiting the number of American students from universities, while enabling foreigners to participate in abroad, hurts the United States in the long run. Students who finish more prestigious universities historically to earn more During their career compared to their counterparts attending other universities.
The group of economic innovations has published report Last year, revealing that only 41% of foreign students remain in the US in the long run after graduation. Only 17% of foreigners who receive a bachelor’s title remain in the country. Most of these students travel home and apply their newly acquired skills to aid other nations compete with our economy.
Another growing problem over the past two decades is that other nations send students to American universities to act as spies. This is especially true for students from China. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has accused Many Chinese students at American spy universities over the years.
The problem is two -sided, and both democrats and Republicans pay attention to the problem. Democratic senator Mark Warner from Virginia earlier claimed that the Chinese communist party has “great power over citizens.” He said that “we saw how the Chinese government uses its power over citizens to encourage these citizens to commit acts of scientific or industrial espionage.”
If foreign students apply registration at American universities to provide intelligence and confidential information back to their governments, act as a threat to national security to the US, which is unacceptable when they are at universities that refused American students of the same place in writing them.
American students deserve our universities in the same way, such as foreigners and take this opportunity in a way that would actually bring the benefits of the US, while there is certainly nothing wrong with citizens who want to apply education as Steppingstone to build a better life, our citizens should receive these opportunities before others.
America’s students should always be above all.
