This week marks the one-year anniversary of Joe Biden’s disastrous prediction: inflation will bemomentary” Long-term price growth, he stated, is “highly unlikely” Twelve months later, he couldn’t have been more wrong. Inflation will not only persist. Things have gotten worse and Democrats are to blame.
For months, Democrats were leaving back and forth on this matter. First, they insisted that inflation would be short-lived. Subsequently, former White House press secretary Jen Psaki stated that the economic growth rate was dwindling. Biden then blamed the high prices on “Big Meat.” There was Chief of Staff Ron Klain’s elitist claim that inflation is simply a “high-end problem,” and Psaki’s joke that the “root cause” is the Covid-19 pandemic. Biden insisted that prices were high because of supply chain problems and then because of Putin.
Now they are pointing fingers. Helpless Democrats are suddenly trying toraise the alarm” about price increases and demanding Biden act – even though their radical voting records contributed to the problem. In Arizona, where Democratic Senator Mark Kelly is running for re-election, inflation has increased by 14.9% since Biden took office. In Georgia, voters face skyrocketing prices 13.7% under Biden – bad news for Democratic senator Raphael Warnock. And in Ohio, working-class families have been hit especially rigid by Bidenflation, driving up costs 14.5% from January 2021. This is a complex offer for Democratic Senate candidate Tim Ryan, who will face Republican JD Vance in November. Ryan voted with Biden 100% of the time, while Warnock and Kelly supported Biden 96% and 94% of the time, respectively. These Democrats couldn’t care less about voters. Now they are “sounding the alarm” because they know they may lose the midterm elections.
They have good reason to worry. Inflation hit last week another record in 40 years. Gas increased by almost 60%. Milk increased by 16% and eggs by an incredible 33%. Even coffee increased by almost 16%. Bidenflation only in June Cost the average American household $718. If prices froze today, families would still have to pay $8,600 in additional inflation-related costs next year.
No wonder, inflation and the ranking of the economy at the top voters’ fears before the midterm elections. Seventy-five percent Americans say inflation has caused them financial hardship, 70% say they have cut back on spending, and 52% say they have changed travel plans because of skyrocketing gas prices. This was stated in another report 25% Americans are now planning to delay retirement 1.5 million retirees they returned to the labor market last year. Tight budgets are even forcing some Americans to do so dip into your savings to make ends meet. More and more people rely on them food stampswhile others are forced to go to food banks for them for the first time in my life.
But Biden and the Democrats have only themselves to blame for the mess they find themselves in. Biden not only squandered the economic recovery he inherited, but also took every opportunity to double it. His $1.9 trillion “stimulus” is responsible for soaring inflation, and his irresponsible Build Back Broke program – which he is trying to push through Congress – only make things worse.
Democrats can spin and dodge all day, but the situation is clear. Biden promised that the price increases would be short-lived. A year later, Americans continue to feel the pressure of this administration’s reckless spending agenda. Unfortunately for Democrats, it’s a crisis that hard-working families are reminded of every day – not least by the $4-a-gallon gas price they’re pumping to the polls.
