Congressman Jim Jordan is raising the alarm over the Biden administration’s plan to lay off a “substantial portion” of Customs and Border Protection workers if they do not receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
Jordan appeared on Fox News’ “Ingraham Angle” after a whistleblower came forward alleging that Border Patrol agents had been notified they were at risk of being fired if they did not receive the vaccine by November 2021.
The Ohio Republican noted that the administration has been much more tolerant towards illegal immigrants flooding the southern border.
“The people who are turning the tables, enforcing our laws, doing their job at the border, will be fired if they do not take the vaccine,” Jordan said. “Meanwhile, for people who break the law and come here, it’s no big deal, it’s your choice [to take the vaccine]it’s up to you. This is how ridiculous the Biden administration has become.”
Earlier in the day, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was asked by lawmakers what their approach is to vaccinating undocumented immigrants, and he responded that undocumented immigrants are being asked if they want it – that taking the Covid vaccine is their choice.
“It’s ridiculous and the American people know it,” Jordan said, pointing out that the Border Patrol is already suffering.
“Over the years and through multiple administrations, it has been difficult to recruit and retain men and women to serve in the U.S. Border Patrol,” he said in a letter to Mayorkas. “Work sites are typically remote, and the work is often dangerous and difficult” — especially when senior administration officials spread “false allegations of cruelty” against mounted officers in Del Rio, Texas.

Jordan could only say that the Biden administration’s approach to the border – ending construction of the border wall, pausing the Remain in Mexico policy and now firing unvaccinated agents “is intentional.”
“If that’s not the goal of a borderless hemisphere, if that’s not the intention, then I don’t know what is,” he told host Laurie Ingraham. “So that’s again what’s so terrifying, what’s so terrifying about this administration, that’s what they must want because a rational person couldn’t come to any other conclusion.”
