First, advertisement – which, let me remind you, is the result of the official campaign of the President of the United States of America. Comment/questions to follow:
“Your first time shouldn’t be with just anyone.”
Question: Is this Lena Dunham eminent? Marginally. I thought I recognized her, but I must have check her out just to be sure It turns out that in 2010 she wrote and directed a successful independent film, and is now the star and creator of the HBO series, Girls.
Question: How aged is she? She is 26 years aged, so she could vote in 2004 and 2008 – but apparently chose not to. I guess John Kerry didn’t quite get the job done, as binders and Big Bird apparently did. (Update: She claims she voted for Obama last time).
Question: Is this supposed to be entertaining? I’m not entirely sure. Probably yes, but it’s not. Even if you’re not put off by the subtle sexual undertones, the whole virginity gag gets dull after about 15 seconds.
Question: Why? You have to assume Team Obama is relying tightly on voters with a low propensity to turn out this time. Nevertheless, is it worth the trade-off of potentially alienating suburban mothers to attract the attention of urban, hipster, college-age women? And if the Lenas of the world couldn’t be motivated to vote for The One while he was there Really cold, how likely are they to abandon, say, their ironic scrapbooking project or whatever this time?
Question: Will this place appeal to the target audience at all? I really can’t say. This seems very cheesy to me, but I’ll leave it to Katie to deal with. So stay tuned.
I’ll leave you with this: A liberal SuperPAC is running against Mitt Romney in Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. She accuses him economic betrayal: :
Mitt Romney left his management job at Bain Capital many years ago, but two Democratic outside groups hope the Republican presidential nominee will suffer from Bain’s decisions today to outsource work to China. In novel television and online coverage, labor super PAC Workers’ Voice and Democratic super PAC Patriot Majority blast Romney over Bain’s controversial decision to move his Sensata job from Illinois to China. The move sparked protests in Illinois, including from the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Both groups will air television ads about this story in three markets: Youngstown, Ohio; Green Bay, Wisconsin and Pittsburgh. The strategist said the Pittsburgh ads target Ohio voters in the same market. Workers’ Voice and Patriot Majority will also run display ads, Facebook ads and search ads on Google and Bing. The ads, costing just under $1 million, label Romney an “economic traitor.” who built a company that now harms American workers.

Romney left Bain in 1999. Fact-checkers found that “no evidence“that any outsourcing of American jobs occurred while he was at the helm, and yet this leftist group is trying to punish Romney for decisions made more than a decade after he left. If that’s not pathetic enough, they operate the rank of fear mongering to do so, throwing around words like “traitor” to smear him. Traitor. It’s more desperate than outrageous, but it’s still pretty outrageous.
