Ohio GOP Sen. J.D. Vance will reportedly introduce legislation that would ban experimental, irreversible underage surgery on transgender people.
Vance will introduce legislation called the “Protecting the Innocence of Children Act.” which was introduced by Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) in the House of Representatives. Vance’s legislation was first reported by: Daily conversationalist.
The law makes it a Class C felony for any person who knowingly provides hormone therapy, puberty-blocking drugs, or irreversible gender reassignment surgery to a minor. This would result in a prison sentence of 10 to 25 years and a fine of up to $250,000. Additionally, higher education institutions have been banned from teaching this type of “health care.”

“Under no circumstances should doctors be allowed to perform these gruesome, irreversible surgeries on minor children. With this legislation, we have the opportunity to save countless young Americans from a lifetime of suffering and regret. I want to thank Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene for her leadership on this issue and look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to protect children from these life-changing procedures,” Vance told the caller.
Departure recorded this Greene legislation introduced in August. The Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) sent a letter to all Republicans in the House urging their support.
Last week, Townhall reported that Loyola University, a Chicago-based Catholic school, was offering students a course in “transgender medicine,” including treating “transgender children.”
“Loyola Medical School has an obligation to train students to care for all patients, regardless of their sexual orientation or psychological problems,” Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, president of Do No Harm, told Townhall. “But the idea that they should teach gender ideology goes far beyond their job description or academic domain. In the face of scientific evidence that gender-affirming surgery is likely unethical and certainly experimental, like many other aspects of the gender transformation regime, Loyola should cease this activity.”
Additionally, a Gallup poll released last month found that a majority of Americans (55 percent) consider gender reassignment to be “morally wrong.” In 2021, this percentage was 51%.
