A group of Republican senators is doubling down on their declaration against White House judicial nominations

A group of six U.S. senators have signed a pledge doubling a previous commitment not to allow any Biden Article III judicial or U.S. attorney nominations to be “fast-tracked.”

“As part of our ongoing response to the current administration’s persecution of President Donald Trump, we will not allow expedited tracking of any judicial nominations under Rules of Procedure. III Biden, as well as nominations for Biden’s American lawyers – senators he said.

“Furthermore, we will not allow accelerated tracking of candidates who suggested that Trump’s impeachment was reasonable, affirmed President Trump’s guilt in these sham proceedings, joined or supported organizations that celebrated President Trump’s impeachment, supported the ‘get Trump’ campaign. the candidacy of Alvin Bragg or otherwise supported the rule of law or censorship,” the senators added.

Thursday’s pledge comes two weeks after the initial signing by a group of senators pledge vowing not to authorize any raise in non-security funding for the Biden administration or any partisan legal funding bill, to vote to confirm the administration’s political and judicial nominees, and not to authorize the expedited consideration and passage of legislation or Democratic bodies that are “that do not have a direct bearing on the security of the American people.”

Both declarations, signed by GOP senators, are a direct response to a Manhattan jury finding former President Donald Trump guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with the Stormy Daniels hush money scandal, marking the first time in history when the President of the United States was convicted of a crime.

The six senators who signed Thursday’s pledge said their commitment would last until Election Day on November 5, when “the American people will have the opportunity to decisively reject attempts to resolve political disputes through the legal system.”

The senators’ Thursday pledge now covers 44 nominees, a number that could raise if the Biden administration announces more nominees.

“While it is not our intention to jeopardize the reputation of either presidential candidate, if our rights are challenged in the U.S. Senate, we will make a strong public case using all the tools at our disposal. Each signatory pledged to defend against attempts to rush confirmation of Biden’s nominees. This will be achieved through joint effort, and not on the willingness of one MP to stop any candidate,” the senators said.

Thursday’s statement was signed by U.S. Senators J.D. Vance (R-OH), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Mike Lee (R-UT), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) and Eric Schmitt (R- MO).
