If so many “real” polls got their results wrong in 2016, we should at least be open to looking at other polling methods, no matter how unconventional. As for bakeries in the battleground states of Pennsylvania and Ohio, they have the clear favorite in the cookie polls so far.
Let’s start with Lochel Family Bakery in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, which has correctly predicted the last three elections (the owner has run the cookie poll for the last four election cycles).
Bakery owner Kathleen Lochel said Trump’s cookies are flying off the shelves, outselling Joe Biden’s cookies by almost 6 to 1.
“One guy drove from Staten Island twice for them,” Lochel told FoxNews.com.
“We plan to count them tomorrow evening and make a final tally,” she said Monday morning. “But right now Donald Trump is still in the lead… we have sold about 28,000 copies [Trump] cookies up to PLN 5,000 [of Biden’s].
He predicts that the number of Trump cookies “will likely reach 29,000” by the end of Monday’s sale.
“This is definitely the busiest time we have ever been through,” she added.
Last month, Eric Trump even advertised a bakery.

The owner said the bakery would bake a cookie in honor of the winner, no matter who it was.
“I think people just love that they’re involved in something,” she told FoxNews.com. “It brings people together, regardless of Democrats or Republicans.”
Now let’s look at Ohio.
The Cincinnati-area Busken Bakery chain correctly predicted the winner of the presidential election since 1984 with their cookie survey.
This year’s treats include a red cookie with a caricature of Trump and a blue cookie with Biden.
The bakery said the final result would be announced on Wednesday, but the latest update on Monday showed Trump leading.

Update: I was notified of another cookie survey taking place in Red Wing, Minnesota, at the Hanish Bakery and Coffee Shop, which, according to the latest update, also includes Trump. According to bakeries across the country, a dozen or so diminutive businesses are conducting cookie surveys and only one of them is ahead of the Democratic presidential candidate.
Here are updates on the national cookie survey ahead of the final day of cookie voting. The accuracy of these cookies…

“Well guys, what a ride this has been,” the bakery wrote on Saturday. “We launched our cookie survey on August 1st and now Tuesday, November 3rd will be the last day to vote in the cookie survey!!!”
The post continued: “Donald J. Trump has a huge lead over Joe Biden Since 1984, the Cookie Poll has been a tradition at our bakery, and yes, it has been very accurate in predicting who will win the popular vote. But remember, 5 times in our history the popular vote has failed to win an election. Will 2020 be one of those years??? Will the cookie survey keep its streak going? Will President Trump exceed 13,000? votes??? We will all see on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.”
