A group of Republicans files articles of impeachment against Biden

A group of House Republicans filed an indictment against President Biden on Tuesday, pointing to the commander-in-chief’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, his attempt to extend a federal moratorium on evictions and his handling of the crisis at the southern border.

Ohio Congressman Bob Gibbs introduced the articles, and Representatives Andy Biggs, Brian Babin and Randy Weber signed on as co-sponsors.

The move is symbolic at this point given that Democrats hold a majority in the lower house, but Gibbs said he takes it very seriously.

“It is clear that because Nancy Pelosi is Speaker, the House will not hold President Biden accountable for his flagrant violations of his constitutional duties. This should not stop Republicans from calling for criticism,” Gibbs wrote on his Facebook page.

“Despite his willful neglect of the border crisis, his willful actions regarding the illegal eviction moratorium, and his disgraceful behavior during the withdrawal from Afghanistan, it is clear that Biden is woefully failing to live up to his oath of office,” he added.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also filed an indictment against Biden, the first time shortly after he took office, and the second time last month.
