Trump leads Harris in state GOP that hasn’t won in nearly 25 years: poll

A poll released overdue Sunday showed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump with a slim lead in New Hampshire, a state Republicans haven’t won in 24 years.

Friday questionnaire showed that the former president remained three points behind Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, but has since changed his lead and currently leads 50.2% to 49.8%, According to to the NH Journal. The last time the state voted red was in favor of former President George W. Bush rather than Democratic candidate Al Gore.

“There is a reason Kamala Harris is spending money in New Hampshire,” Karoline Leavitt, a Trump campaign spokeswoman and New Hampshire native, told the NH Journal. “He is on defense and knows that President Trump is on the path to victory. To my fellow Granite Staters who want to keep our beautiful state safe, business-friendly and free – go out and vote for President Trump. Kamala Harris is a radical liberal who will destroy New Hampshire and America forever.”

According to the NH Journal, Republican gubernatorial candidate Kelly Ayotte also leads Democratic candidate Joyce Craig in the state by almost four percentage points, giving her 51.9% to Craig’s 48.1%.

Trump lost the state in his 2016 and 2020 election efforts, along with President Joe Biden victorious state by over 7% in 2020.

The latest polls show Trump leading Harris by two points nationwide, from 47% to 45%, According to to the Wall Street Journal. Harris’ favorability among voters also dropped from 50% in August to 45% in overdue October, and her approval as vice president dropped to just 42%, the lowest level since announcing her presidential campaign.

The economy remains the most vital issue for New Hampshire voters, with 34% calling it the most vital issue in this election According to to the earlier Emmerson College survey. The NH Journal poll found that New Hampshire voters were also 54% less likely to vote for a candidate who supports men competing in women’s sports.

The poll polled 622 registered voters from October 24-26 and had a margin of error of +/- 3.93%.

The Trump and Harris campaigns did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
