Kari Lake will be the Republican Party’s candidate for governor of Arizona. It’s not official yet, but her camp is confident that any remaining votes will get in her way. There don’t appear to be enough votes left for her opponent, Karrin Taylor Robson, to regain the lead. Robson led most of Tuesday night. Currently, the map shows only Maricopa County winning, which is doing like molasses in counting the remaining votes. Even experts who oppose the lake admit on social media that she will be the nominee. A former journalist vilified by the media as a peddler of conspiracy theorists and a lunatic who took the lead early Wednesday morning.
Lake became known as a candidate who bashed liberal media outlets like CNN to their faces. She has won the support of Donald Trump, and her eventual victory is a gentle reminder to the “Never Trump” wing of the Republican Party that it’s time to pack up. The fight for the heart and soul of the party took place in 2016 and this side lost. If 2022 has shown anything, it’s that the Republican Party underwent a seismic shift in 2016. This is the party of Donald Trump. The way Arizona Republicans voted in Tuesday’s primary illustrates this correction.
Has Lake always been a staunch Trump Republican? Hell no. There are plenty of converts. I don’t care if she was a former Obama supporter. The media is once again not delving into the novel GOP base. There are millions of Obama and Trump voters. Additionally, a solid portion of Trump’s base is considered economically progressive, although cultural issues and immigration prevent them from shifting to the Democratic camp. A few weeks before his first day at Fox News he ran a bit on the days Lake was anti-Trump:
A Republican Party gubernatorial candidate in Arizona, endorsed by Donald Trump, shared a post on Facebook stating that Trump “is not my president” days before the former president’s 2017 inauguration.
An anti-Trump post from Kari Lake’s account read: “Will you protest the inauguration? If so, which of these suggestions would you adopt? Will you boycott TV coverage? Dress in black? Donate money to the ACLU, NAACP or Planned Parenthood? Use the hashtag #NotMyPresident? Will you unfollow Donald Trump?”
After Fox News Digital asked Kari Lake’s campaign for governor for a statement, the post disappeared from her page.
[…]
The Facebook post was accompanied by a meme that was likely sent to Lake by one of her Facebook followers. The meme called Trump’s inauguration day a “national day of mourning and protest.”
“This is clearly a post by a news anchor; reports that there was outrage over the election of President Trump and asks whether people intend to visibly protest his inauguration, as the meme suggests. To take anything more out of it is just stupid,” a spokesperson for Lake’s campaign told Fox News Digital.
It’s not the best look, but you’d think by now the media would find out that everyone hates them. Progressives believe that time-honored media are in an advantageous situation for establishment Democrats. Conservatives see all media as a bunch of lying Democrats. The Russian collusion hoax and continued anti-Trump reporting have convinced many to treat everything these people sell with skepticism and suspicion. Unless it’s something terrible, no one cares. In Ohio, GOP Senate candidate J.D. Vance was not kind to Trump. He will probably win the election. The media must stop telling people who to vote for in elections, but they continue to try and motivate voters to support anyone who is not in the good graces of the national press. Plus the holier than thou Republicans need to shut it down because everyone can see what they’re doing. Do they think that it was only after Trump that people changed their minds due to the political winds? By default, voters view politicians as corrupt snake oil salesmen. Mostly they are right.
If Lake wins tonight, he is currently polling about 10 to 12 points behind Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs. That’s a lot of runway to make up. I don’t know why the Arizona GOP didn’t think Arizona was full of independents and free thinkers… https://t.co/hRLtiEiWnQ

Kari Lake will most likely win, even though she has been a lifelong progressive liberal with a lifelong pro-Obama bias. All she had to do was spew the words MAGA and people bought it. She is a fraud, a conspiracy theorist and does not measure up to the governor’s character. https://t.co/0QIgGv7VDF

I see that my initial predictions turned out to be correct, despite the initial excitement that Robson would lead…
Congratulations to my home state for fully transitioning into full-fledged MAGA/conspiracy theory/con artist.
The voters have spoken – be careful what you wish for…

Only dying members of the GOP who were never Trumps view this occupation with any prestige. The rest of the party doesn’t care. Just win.
