The Republican National Congressional Committee said in a filing with the Federal Election Commission on Friday that Elon Musk increased his political contributions in August, making his largest donation yet, Politico reports.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced a $289,100 donation from Musk to support Republicans’ efforts to maintain their majority in the House of Representatives, According to to Politico. The donation was made through a joint fundraising committee affiliated with California Republican Rep. Ken Calvert, primarily intended for the NRCC convention and headquarters activities.
Musk has historically donated to both Democratic and Republican causes, though never in such enormous amounts, Politico reports. However, Musk publicly expressed his support for former President Donald Trump in fasting on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Trump and Musk previously held event where they held a two-hour dialogue that drew millions of listeners. The former president also spoke highly of Musk, calling the Tesla and SpaceX CEO a “brilliant person” during an appearance on Theo Von’s show podcast.

The super PAC recently experienced a leadership change that is playing a key role in mobilizing voter turnout and has begun to influence competitive House elections across the country, Politico reports. Although it disclosed $289,100 NRCC is significant, you can expect Musk to make an even larger contribution to America PAC.
Given that super PACs can receive unlimited funds from individuals, further details about Musk’s total contributions will likely emerge when America PAC releases its third-quarter financial results on Oct. 15, Politico reported. In bolstering his political operations, Musk has also hired Chris Young, a veteran GOP strategist, According to to the New York Times.
Despite these donations from Musk, the total amount raised by the NRCC in August was $9.7 million, a significant drop from the $22.2 million lifted according to Politico by his Democratic counterpart.
The NRCC did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
